One box and two 'bags for life' filled with bottles of alcohol and taken away by DS and GF. Fer-ling. Three bottles of orange squash also given to DS and taken. Fer-ling.
Every little helps.

Where has the week gone? Gradually getting to the end of some jobs which have been hanging around and affected whole rooms:
- after trying unsuccessfully to get 'a man in' to grind a minuscule bit of granite worktop off to fit the new hob - most wanted a callout fee of more than we paid for the hob - Mr N paid £30 for a diamond attachment thing to go on his drill and did it in a very short time. Hob now in place, with the steel surround Mr N made to align metric/imperial mismatch. I've started sorting out the items in the drawer and 2 shelves removed to prevent them getting full of dust while grinding going on.
- yesterday heating engineer came and did the final check and lagging on the new system so he can sign it off for the 10yr guarantee. This means the garage can be tidied as much was put on one side or in a heap while work was ongoing.
- I have 'dealt with' all paperwork in a 5-layer paper tray. Next task is to consolidate/decide what the rack can be used for; suspect it may replace a single basket on my desk (current 'in' tray) and a 3-level plastic filing tray which usually holds planned assessment info; assessments done and waiting to be written up; report written and paperwork needs filing. So 1 + 3 = less than 5, therefore I can ditch 2 trays and just keep the 5-level rack. That's my theory anyway. If it works it will certainly save space. It also means there is now nothing which needs to live on a small 3-tier shelf unit so I can get rid of it. Watch this space.
- 1 load through DW including several utensils from the aforementioned kitchen drawer.
- drove 4 miles to next village which has Co0p and used this week's offer discounting gf bread. Parked there and walked along by the river to bird lakes.
- came home to find large card envelope hanging out of letterbox, yippee it is my renewed assessment certificate which means I am certified for another 3yrs. No complaints, criticisms or comments on the CPD log I had to send in, phew. I just want the professional body to make a statement about the online mini-assessment deadline to be extended beyond March, which it just has to be, then I can get going to equip myself for that and start working.
- wrote up yesterday's workplace student session and emailed it to her, wrote next week's session plan.
- dropped off item to friend in Harlow (masked, met him outside to hand over then stood back); collected item from C£rry's then to c&c from Mr T so worth the trip.
We did some gardening yesterday, planned to organise my seeds today but decided on the paperwork declutter instead.
Dusty I used https://www.simplyseed.co.uk/ this year after a good experience and prices with them last year.
Pleased to see on our local FB that our village IT man has refurbished 2 old laptops - 1 of which was donated by me - got them working and has now offered them to any family needing them. Some nice comments from people about community spirit etc, obviously they don't know the donors but I'm so happy it was helpful as I feel that I do so little. My brother is really enjoying being a vaccination volunteer; I'd love to but it would be too risky with Mr N vulnerable.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
I have done some tidying in the garden, and took a trug of clippings/dead stuff to the compost bin at the allotment. I hoed a few beds while I was there - it is no longer under water! Yay!!
I have cleaned the window and windowsill in the UR. It is now ready for the heated propagator to be set up & seedlings started.
DS's bedding has been washed & dried and he remade his bed. DH & DS spent the evening recording another podcast (it keeps them out of mischief!) while I watched TV. I haven't listened to any of them yet!
Grumpy dog is still scratching his elbows, but they seem a little better today.
Night night all!10 -
Morning xx
I went AWOL yesterday - I had a 'down' day in every way. Sometimes you simply have to allow it or risk exploding / imploding. Thank you Fayollexx
It wasn't a complete write-off - I picked up my prescription, WM x2 and had 2 winners in the ITV7. (I won't be handing in my notice this week then). And, thanks to DS retrieving his alcohol stash, I now have a kitchen cupboard that's almost empty/ There are a few drinking games, and drink accoutrements still in there, but they'll be packed up and going too.
I'm up early today and feel ready to face the world again. My eye is most annoying but I had my follow up check (after badgering them) and was told everything looks fine. That's obviously a relief. I'm hoping the floaters and the light sensitivity are temporary, and that the headaches will disappear when I get new specs, which I can't be re-tested for until my eye recovers from its 'adventure'. Back to the Eye Clinic in 4 weeks - assuming that they send an appointment through, then I'll return to the optician for a re-test and new lenses in old frames (mse).
I'm at work tomorrow - which means that I will then have Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday at home next weekend. Car is booked in for MOT and service on the Monday - 1st March!!!! How can that be??? I also have a week's Annual Leave booked in March - use it by 31st March or lose it. I'm using it
Round 1 =
breakfast and brew 2
get dressed
feed the birds
put out rubbish and recycling
laundry shuffle
WUDUPA
I always make my bed as soon as I get up so that's done - and windows are open upstairs to let some air in.
Much love and hugs to you all

Naggy Nora Nudge - do you need new underwear? Bin anything that's grey, saggy, holey etc etc; anything that is too big or too small and sat in the cupboard with the label still attached waiting for that amazing day when you shrink 3 sizes or suddenly grow a pair can go into the cs bag. Embrace the you that you are now. You deserve decent underwear.IT ONLY TAKES SMALL DAILY ACTIONSFOR MAGIC TO HAPPENRosemary Ikpeme11 -
Morning everyone hope you are all well.
I haven't posted for a while. Im currently working hard on decluttering and organising the house. Youngest starts preschool this coming week. And ds2 will be back at school too. Just the eldest still at home for school. So it's time after always having a child at home all day for the last 12 years for me to get into a new routine. That started today. I have work this afternoon but I thought I would trial the next few days and the first week of the new changes to see what will work best for us.
My challenge this week that I have set myself is too sort out ALL of the toys. And organise them properly. They have too many tbh.
The difficulty we have is with ds2s additional needs he doesn't grow out of toys like the other kids. So he has toys that are 3 years old that he still plays with daily, which obviously will be kept but then he has toys he doesn't play with much or has never played with that were brought as gifts that he hasn't really grown into. I'm not sure if I should sell them and get more appropriate toys or put them in the loft for when they are more appropriate?
Anyway today I'm challenging myself to get the house straightened out so I can start tomorrow as I mean to go on. I have really struggling with housework since Sept last year, due to physical health declining and also depression but I'm hoping if I can get into a good routine and actually start enjoying it as well as seeing a difference in the house I will find it easier to deal with. The state of the house although not bad does get me down. I'm going to take before and after photos to keep me motivated.
Anyway off to do a HH tidy in the dining room and wipe down the table etc

Morning all.
DH has been procrastinating over a couple of essential jobs so I started on them this morning, badly, and he's now taken over. With a smile though which surprised me. I told him that if you get the frogs out of the way early then the rest of the day will be great.
So I have changed the sofa and cushion covers and the others are just finishing in the machine and I've watered plants and vases and s&sd the downstairs loo.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Wow mumof3 you are on a mission today xx Maybe some of your motivation will rub off on me? I'm still sat here in my nightie having tetrissed an hour away.

Morning all,
So much flying action, so early on - in the WAC again, so I read more of my book for an extra half an hour in bed, and am now contemplating cuppa 2!
Mild and drizzly here, so I’m not enthused atm to go to the allotment to see if I can rescue some leeks. GI - well done, what is this hoeing that you write about?! Impressed!DH finished “clearing” (aka shifting stuff to other rooms / the newly cleared loft 😡) the small room yesterday. The house is a mega tip, but I cba to argue any more. I think that I have some unearthed paperwork that can go, so I will concentrate on getting my own stuff in order.
DD tidied her room yesterday evening, so the wm is on with her bedding in. There is HHI to do, bendy carrot soup to make, and I even remembered to soak some beans last night, so they need cooking up. That and Naggy Nora’s reminder is probably enough for now.
Oh and the battery went in the scales this morning - bonus, as I now weigh “LO” apparently 😉.
Hugs to all xx10
