Ooh, that reminds me I found 2 bottles of blackberry whisky I bottled 12 years ago last week, tucked round a corner in a cupboard ….. it was LUSH !Sealed pot challenge 822

I'm fairly sure that I don't have anything as good as that hidden away. I do still have half a bottle of the late Mr C's navy strength gin which could be interesting combined with blackberries?
I'm off to the city this morning to meet someone that I've been chatting to on a fan forum for the last year. Just a quick coffee and then home again as they're booked onto a tour. It's nice to be able to say hello properly and I know that the other person will like putting stuff on facebook. We chat to a lot of people in the States that we're never going to meet so they'll enjoy seeing a photo of the two of us together.
Spendy day today but hopefully just a local train ticket and a coffee.0 -
Hi Cranky, I've been lurking along. Just wanted to post to say thanks for your brownie recipe - I tried it the other week and they turned out very well - the kids & my DH were very happy with them. 😊Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Good evening all. It's time for the month end report and wow, school holidays cost so much! Especially 3 month long school holidays because the HT finished once he'd taken his GCSE exams. I don't regret what we spent though. We celebrated him passing his exams and he did say to me yesterday that he'd had a brilliant summer.
Debt totals are
Credit card £4700.00/£6816.69
Loan £1360.00/£2158.54
Others £ 0.00/£ 202.09
Total O/S £6060.00/£9177.32
Total debt reduction this month £ 190.00
Reduction since Dec '20 (💡) £3117.32
At least it's still headed in the right direction.5 -

Agree, you need the balance otherwise what are you working for? Any reduction is a reduction xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

You made conscious decisions to spend and still kept to the direction of travel.
That's a success and shows the 'balance' argument perfectly in action.4 -
Hi Cranky40 - If I remember rightly, the proportions I use for making blackberry whisky are as follows:
300g blackberries
300g sugar
750ml whisky (or gin or vodka if that's more your thing)
Mr F has now requested a bottle of this for Christmas, so I think I will be starting off my boozy jar of blackberries very soon.
