  • Just waiting to hear back from my solicitor, I have no idea about the ins and outs of the process now.

She'll keep me in the loop and just tell me what to do.

  • Got an appointment with the solicitor tomorrow to hand in my ID and a conflict of interest waiver.

Me and the seller are both with the same solicitor so need to sign that to say I am happy for them to deal with both.

I've to pay in my £200 to my H2B ISA on 1st March then request to close that a couple of days later so she can claim my bonus.

Once she has the deposit amount and the H2B ISA bonus she will let me know if I have an outstanding balance to pay her.

Contacted my uncle today, he is a painter and decorator so I've got him booked in to come give me a quote for painting everywhere and wallpapering one or two walls.
  • So I have £5860 in my H2B ISA, if I get a 25% bonus on this it will be £1,465.

My fee for the solicitor in total is £992 including VAT so by those calculations I should get some money back from her or have to use less of my savings to transfer the deposit!

More money for decorating and furniture - eeeeeeeeek!!!

    I am so excited.
  • Just back from the Solicitor, she told me that everything is going as planned.

I've handed in all my ID and she has requested a certificate from the sellers due to changes made to the bathroom in 2016. She said she will let me know when she hears back from them.
  • How exciting.  It's amazing to own your own home even with the bank.  I hope it all goes smoothly for you.

  • Did a wee drive by the flat on Friday and the sold sign is up!

Solicitor called as she got the mortgage offer in from Nationwide so she is going to start transferring the deeds and anything else that needs to be done.

If I don't hear anything by the end of the week I'll give her a phone.
