HSBC Advance Switch Is Back £125

I am not very familiar with the process of switch to the point to talk about the steps precisely but if I got what you are saying right does it mean you have to request a switch day let's say 2-3 weeks later so by this time you should be able to receive and test everything?colsten said:
Another great example why you should never request a switch before you haven't got full access to your new account.droberts26 said:I received my debit card and pin approx 10 days ago and still haven't received the telephone banking security number. I did speak to customer services last week and they said it was sent out on 17th. Switch should complete tomorrow, but it would have been good to get online before then to check my DD's and SO's0 -
I done the switch. Does anyone know if you need to pay 1750 each month indefinitely to get the £125 or is it just a one off? What if I decide to switch to another account a month later? Will they take back the £125?0

Also the credit check is bad before property purchase no? I guess one needs to wait 6 months now to ensure little impact0

To be able to get £125 you only need to switch with 2 DD. The other £1750 which you need to pay in each month are to keep the account open as it is a HSBC Advanced account and this is one of the term to keep it open. You can switch whenever you like.
There is a First Direct bank which is connected with HSBC and their offer is to pay in £1000 within the first 3 months and then you get switch bonus of £100 but this is a different offer so if you saw it previously maybe that is why you got confused.0 -
Yes, I know. But I have an adversion to calling any corporate organisation. Long wait times and then put through to a customer service advisor who will say all the right things but a few days later you will realise nothing has change and you have to call again...repeat ad nauseum. Much prefer email or secure message - but of course that is not possible without having more account details/login details.colsten said:
You could call them?VXman said:Question about new HSBC account and the telephone banking security number.
I opened using this HSBC switching account offer a couple of weeks ago. All went very smoothly and quick. Got debit card and PIN in a few days after applying. However, I cannot access internet banking as you need the telephone banking security number to register and I haven't been sent one. Do these get sent out automatically?

Except that if you are going for the £125 reward you generally request the switch at the time of applying for the account. In fact - do you not have too do it this way?colsten said:

I haven't done the HSBC offer but countless others, and I never requested the switch at application time, even though I only ever switch donor accounts. If HSBC force you to request the switch at the time of applying for the current account, you should be able to specify a switch date at some stage in the future. Within the T&Cs of the offer, obvsly.VXman said:

So you are saying that normally there is a practice to open an account and once all is set up and tested then you can request switch and get the bonus? As you said within some specified time in T&C of the offer.0
-
That's correct. Opening a current account and switching one or more other accounts into it are to entirely separate processes.1

2 x D.D`s or 2 x standing orders + £1,750 monthly or £10,500 over 6 months.positiveevibes said:To be able to get £125 you only need to switch with 2 DD.
