EdIt:  Unfortunately I've just this minute had a rejection from Neon Reef who I was switching to so I will contact them and ask them to resubmit...hopefully SO Energy aren't so quick off the mark so that there isn't the same issue with the gas
I'd started the switch myself yesterday to Neon Reef, on the understanding that my supply to evolve was finalised on the 16th, but just before midnight got an email saying the industry had blocked it.
Have you had any luck resubmitting or understanding why your own switch had been blocked, beyond the obvious.
Got another rejection email late last night.  Don't understand why as database definitely showing as being BG (and serial no is now appearing against my electric meter on BG Evolve account when it wasnt yesterday and it allows me to enter reading which again it didn't yesterday) and address is correct.  Have emailed NR to try again and will go on chat with them later as well.   Will also try chat with BGE to see if it's them rejecting it.  The only other thought is the 28 day rule but thought that didn't apply with SOLR

Gas is still not showing as BG on database despite BG Evolve account showing as being on supply and the gas meter serial was there yesterday and allowed me to enter reading yesterday.

     Frustrating.
  • Hi Shedman,
I didn't get time myself to follow up WITH Neon Reef or British Gas Evolve today.

Was wondering did you have any luck getting your switch moving again, or any explanation from BGE of they have been the ones rejecting it.

I had started a move to Utility Point at the same time as NR, for my gas. I've not seen any rejection messages from them on that, so hopefully that one is OK for me.

Chatted with BGE this morning.  They confirmed the supplies had been switched to them and that they couldn't see any reason for a rejection.  They also confirmed that although my account says On Supply from 16 Feb I will be charged as from 31 Jan.  They said they would get opening reads from Simplicity but said I could give them as well and they would note it on my account so I did.

Chatted to NR again today and they reapplied.  However I've just a few minutes Avon had the third rejection for the electricity switch.  It's very odd as the database was showing my electric as being with BG on 15 Feb.  No idea what to do now other than chat to NR again tomorrow.

My gas is now showing as BG on the national database.  I've no idea if the reapplication by So Energy has been rejected or not as I cannot log on to my account with them (and haven't been able to since Sunday).  I haven't had a rejection email today but then I didn't receive the first one the other day (even though they have the right email address as I've received other emails from them ok).  Guess I'm once again on Twitter to them or probably better calling them tomorrow.

So no it's not going well.

Chatted to BGE again today and got another story...they are suggesting that I should leave it to 22nd to apply for switch away so that everything has been setup.  But as they are showing on databases as supplier (and my account with them says I'm on. Supply from 16th as well) there shouldn't be any reason for rejections (didn't have it with the YE to SP situation when I switched away as soon as SP were showing as supplier on database).  I think I'll get NR and SO just to keep reapplying (if they are prepared to) as it sounds like rubbish to me.

Yes I've just been told that the switch was from the 15th and my simplicity tariff applied up till that date, hopefully getting an email any time now with the new details. Not holding my breath!

Edit: got the email, know the tariff, it's slightly better than expected, at least gas is under 3p/kWh.

I think I may just sit it out for a few months until (hopefully) energy costs come down, otherwise I'm going to end up doing multiple switches for relatively marginal gain and not sure I have the energy for that...

I've also been on chat with BGE myself today, and got the same line - that I should wait until the 22nd; they implied they'd set that date to limit any switching out issues... I guess I need to wait until Monday to contact Neon Reef.

Interesting seeing as I was told that we would be charged on the BGE Simplicity Promise tariff from 31st.....look forward to hearing what your email says

I edited my post up thread. Email was basic and I can't login as they got my email address wrong from simplicity (apparently) so will be a couple more days before I can get in. But tariff was confirmed over chat - 2.93p gas, 17.17p Electric. Not as awful as I was expecting, but not enough to make me want to switch immediately if energy costs could come down again after winter...

So the bit about being on Simplicity tariff till 15th was wrong?  I suspect they meant the new Simplicity Promise tariff, which you now seem to have your rates for.

Just been onto SO Energy and switch of the gas to them seems to going forward OK after they reapplied (famous last words 😅).  It's very odd that gas is going through easier than electric given electric was showing as BG on database two days earlier.

NR have resubmitted for electric switch yet again so fingers crossed this one doesn't get rejected again.
