    Just got my first bill from Simplicity covering 22/1 to 30/1 (which was the whole period I was with them) and it looks OK.  Although it doesn't actually state that's it a Final bill.

    They've used the opening meter readings I supplied, although oddly, even though I supplied readings on both 30th and 31st and those were previously showing as customer reads on the site, they have used estimates for the 30th but fortunately gas is spot on and electric is only 1 kWh out.

    My electric has now transferred to BG on national database as of this evening.  Gas still showing as Simplicity, although previous experience with this process suggests gas seems not to get changed on database as swiftly as electric so hopefully will be complete tomorrow.  

    EdIt:  Unfortunately I've just this minute had a rejection from Neon Reef who I was switching to so I will contact them and ask them to resubmit...hopefully SO Energy aren't so quick off the mark so that there isn't the same issue with the gas

    Well according to my account with BGE I'm now on supply with them and I've been supplied since 16 Feb. They have meter readings even though I haven't supplied them any (so presumably the final reads from Simplicity although nothing on the account to show any meter reads).  No DD set up yet and they haven't asked for bank details.


  • I've still not heard a dicky bird from BGE - when I chatted them the other day they said I'd be set up by the 16th... if that's the case then it's down to the wire. I'll certainly be challenging them on any usurious rates they want to retrospectively hold me responsible for!

    is anyone else still waiting to be contacted with their new account/tariff details?

    Jumped too soon to SO Energy as well ...it was always a risk 😥. The Gas switched has been rejected but hopefully they can resubmit in a couple of days when the national database is showing BG as my supplier.  Wish now I had had rejections when I switched from SP to Simplicity...at least I might missed out this interim step. Oh well.

    How do you check electricity supplier on the national database? I can only see an online lookup option for gas - and that's still showing under "Simplicity Energy Ltd - Closed"

    does it need a call to the Network operator for my house to have them tell me?

    If you know your Network Operator (SSEN in my case) then there should be a link somewhere on their site to a Who's My Supplier(or similar such wording) page on which you fill in your postcode and house number like on Find My Supplier for Gas.   

    BTW my gas still shows same as yours hence why SO got the rejection...hopefully it will be updated overnight

    Got it! So it's British Gas for the electricity, sounds like we're in the same boat except I've not had any contact.

    As soon as the gas moves over then it's off to UP for me I think (dual fuel so shouldn't be any nonsense with being passed to NR...). Annoying to have to move with energy prices high right now...

    I'd started the switch myself yesterday to Neon Reef, on the understanding that my supply to evolve was finalised on the 16th, but just before midnight got an email saying the industry had blocked it.
    Have you had any luck resubmitting or understanding why your own switch had been blocked, beyond the obvious. 
  • Someone I know Gas only switch completed to GNE on 27th January, following day applied to switch elsewhere, switch did not get blocked, just in case this experience helps.
