Green Network Energy is ceasing to trade

There seems to be a security issue using the website, but this morning I inputted my energy data using the app.0

Likewise - I chose to heed the security warning and exited the site. My GNE DD was taken as normal. It will all come out in the wash (one day)Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Just logged on to GNE website, all is as always has been, "https" is still on & no "insecure" warnings, in fact everything on the site is unchanged, I am not due to send another meter reading yet, still not heard anything directly from EDF, only via MSE. Patience is a virtue they say !!1

How strange, i just logged on to be met with a 'This site is insecure' message.I would love to know, how the people ported to British Gas are faring.0

I was a Green Energy Customer my friend was a Simplicity Customer. We both had emails over six weeks ago saying we had been switched to EDF and British Gas respectively since when neither of us have heard anything but each have had two further direct debits taken by the original companies. Anyone know what is happening I now have about two hundred pounds sitting around somewhere no new account number, can't get onto original suppliers websites to find out where our money is and are both getting very worried0

Your new supplier will honour your credit balances, so no need to worry. While it's unsettling not having any up-to-date information yet, you will be contacted by your new supplier eventually. If you are concerned about making further payments to your old supplier then you could cancel the direct debit (but your new supplier will probably ask you to reinstate it when the switch is complete).jfr399 said:I was a Green Energy Customer my friend was a Simplicity Customer. I have my direct debit active but they haven't taken any further payments since they announced they had ceased trading. My last payment was on 26th January.SonOfPearl said: If you are concerned about making further payments to your old supplier then you could cancel the direct debit (but your new supplier will probably ask you to reinstate it when the switch is complete).0 -
That's probably because you cancelled your direct debit.BigBlueSky said:

Left Eon for Green Energy just as it went bust. Followed Martin’s instructions & didn’t do anything, but had cancelled Green Energy DD, when I first heard the news.Have had email from MSE saying transfer going ahead, but nothing from firm taking over our area - Lancs, think it might be EDF but not heard anything as yet!
I’ve also had an estimated closing bill from Eon?
In normal circumstances wouldn't GNE/EDF deal with that, & just add it to my existing bill?My conundrum is do I pay Eon’s estimated bill now? Or Do I send them an up to date reading first? But have no idea when this supposed new firm took over, so no idea how or when to provide an accurate reading? So not sure how they provide me with an accurate closing bill?
However the longer I leave the Eon bill unpaid am worried that it might trigger a black Mark on Experian type accounts, as unpaid bill? Any advice would be appreciated?0
