Hahaha I love that Dracula quote, thank you mothernerd, I think that is just what I needed to hear today.
Thank you Apple for not putting me on the naughty step.
I am doing very badly with NSDs though. Today should be 8 but tomorrow won’t be one. Overall this is due to doing the shopping over several days, and we’re not spending more than the budget, so I guess it’s OK.
This weekend my task is to work on clearing my balcony in preparation for growing a few herbs and possibly tomatoes and salad leaves, nothing crazy..... our local allotment already has beetroot and things in already.
Grateful for a few free hours today, for not needing to spend any money and for you turtles, who make me smile everyday.

We've finally bought a proper computer desk to go in the spare room and make it a bit easier to work from home, now that we're going back. It wasn't a planned spend as such but is coming out of a house improvements budget so the money is there, although not intended for that. Today has been the first day wfh this week and I'm back in tomorrow to supervise a key workers group while teaching my own classes - what fun.
Yesterday's Fareshare best effort was kalettes, still on the stalk so I printed off a recipe and a sort of 'what are these?' sheet. Having taken half the tuna mountain to the food bank last week, we're now starting a sardine mountain, 48 tins last week and another 48 this week.
The crocuses has started flower in the window box by the kitchen which shows spring is nearly here.Mortgage Free 23 December 2020

Ooh kalettes are a new one on me! We had a poor showing of 6 celeriac, 1 sack of spuds, 12 melons, 4 crates of rocket and 3 crates of spring onions. That was it. Oh well! You can't have a bumper harvest haul every week I suppose. We did manage to shift nearly all of it though, so a job well done. It was quite busy, so lots of people are now worry free on the food front for another week. The sun has come out and it is like a Spring day. Going to have a cup of tea and think about hammering some stuff together in the sunshine. Plus hoovering my car ready for the big Full Service tomorrow.NSD 17. Still got £27 in the budget and 3 days to find something to spend it on - or not, either or.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Ordered some more seeds. Blue and white lobelia and violas. Think that's all I need now. Did a bit of "garden" tidying. Just as well as the compost arrived three days earlier than planned and was quite a bit bigger than I thought but I have a place cleared for it. Hope it won't be too cold tomorrow and I can get a bit more done. Looks much better already though.
Himself is making sausage, onion and mash for dinner so I'm having a little time off tonight. Last night's curry was lovely which just goes to prove that jars and tins last much longer than the sell by date.
Big adventure tomorrow - we're walking to the fruit shop to buy a couple of their really big potatoes for baking and the butcher next door for some of his home made cold meat. First time we'll have been there since the summer. The things that I used to take for granted and get so excited about now!!!Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
One load of washing done and drying outside. Everywhere looks a mess (my new system is organised and will save a lot of bending to get at frequently used items but the contents still need a lot of sorting and the mess is in my line of sight). Have been outside with bin bags, collecting bottles that were used last year for growing. Filled a sack with clean bottles (now behind the shed and a bin bag with toilet roll middles that were loose in the shed. Found a £1 and a £2 coin - added to my penny savings. Counted the notes in there and added more to make it up to £200. Emptied a box in the shed, found my newer boots so the ancient ones can go in the bin. Found stamps for mum and relocated several items to where they should be (preferably not in my room).
Had a shower and cleaned the shower (wasn't going to put the painting dress back on so used it to swipe round the shower base using my feet and holding onto the grab rails in case of slippy bits - shower mats outside) and have done a bit of extra personal grooming (much overdue). No money spent NSD 16, clutter clear total 595/ 2021.
Grateful for easy food - mixed ood coleslaw with tuna and bean salad yesterday and had it on the last 3 wraps in a packet, finished it off for lunch, feeling clean after my hard work and washing drying on the line.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage5 -
No NSD here as bought some much needed trainers (been keeping an eye on them for ages and finally got a discount code). My old ones are letting water in through the soles so I think I can justify it. Also bought some bread as hadn't realised we were almost out.
Did a few jobs and went for 2 walks today as well, also went to see pony aka mud monster! All in all a pretty nice day.6 -
Thursday- still 14 NSD as I had to buy milk and rabbit veg. Tomorrow I should have no reason to go in a shop, so should make it to 15.
Grateful today for a dry sunny day, managing to fit dog walking and pony riding round work, DD being a general all round superstar today and curry for tea.6 -
Today I am grateful for getting a sticker when I had my vax, for dd having a good day with school, for a milder day, for dh making tea, for a good book.PS March is nearly readyNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6

hi everyone, had a small spend on food yesterday and a smaller one today as ordered a CD for my niece's birthday . Had a busy couple of days at work and completed my work frog
I have done 3 exercise sessions this week via Fb and eaten well although my portion sizes are probably too generous. Had a nice walk yesterday and watched the final episode of The Bay. Hadn't read my mortgage overpayment letter properly so had a strop when i found out my payment was the same amount as usual. Rang the Building Society and as i was quoting from the letter that my increased payments would start on 25 Feb - I realised it said my overpayments will start from 25 Feb 2025!!! Well that's bonkers as i hope i won't even have a mortgage then! So the nice man will amend my payments to the increased amount from 25 March 2021 and i will read the ensuing letter very carefully
Gratitudes - good chats with nice colleagues; great pilates session today; lovely phone chats with DDs
