Evening everyone
Looking back at this month:
Finances - logged spends so have realistic idea of how much i spend on food, cleaning products etc. Got new deal on broadband and gas/elec, paid more off my CC debt.
14 NSDs, need food and cat food so will have to go to the SM tomorrow. Bought myself a plant pot today.
Eaten much better and lots of F&V, drank a lot of water. Also drank a fair bit of wine and too many sweetie treats
Have been for a walk most days and done my exercise classes on Fb.
Have kept in touch with friends and family with text, video chats, phone calls and even an old fashioned letter!
Bought some books for local school from the big river company, made a donation to the foodbank
Gratitudes for today - lovely walk with DD1's bestie; video chat with my friend; nice phone call with colleague from PT job
mothernerd - thanks for a great challenge and inspiring thoughts xx

Today I am grateful for finding some bargains in liddle, for a sunny day, for beautiful light at sunset when I went on a walk with dd, for the rugby.

Thankyou for the challenge Mothernerd, especially all the quotes. I haven't got round to posting much, but have been reading along. I have managed the 15 NSDs, a good walk with the dog each morning, and made a start on the garden. Grateful for the last couple of sunny days, it really lifts the mood, doesn't it? Also that I have been able to save towards some building work that is being done soon, and the spring flowers appearing in the garden5

Yesterday I reached 14/15 NSD. Tomorrow is definitely going to be 15 - finally going to make it!
Today has been a VERY spendy day.
As well as my weekly grocery delivery, I received a recipe subscription box. Taken with a generous new customer discount and with the intent of giving me three new recipes to try while I’m on annual leave. Cancelled subscription immediately after the box arrived so I’m not charged for next week’s.
Tv situation
I ordered a new TV this morning (no word back from seller on current broken one). The new tv is from JLew and comes with a 5-year guarantee. And I got 5% cash back on TCB.
Car tax situation
Added another £40-ish from underspends this month to the savings pot to pay the upcoming £1200 car tax bill.
I used some of my Christmas gift money to buy a new pillow today as current one has been giving me a stiff neck and shoulders. This is a wool-filled one. Had one before and I slept really well. But I gave it to DS because it was flatter for his little toddler head and neck. I took the free pillow that came with his bed. It was lumpy with a couple of weeks.
Grateful for OH and I getting our first Covid vaccine, playing football with DS in the garden, and a delicious curry, naan and spiced onions for dinner made by OH.

Saturday- still on NSD 15, we have food for next week and my house is still a mess 😱. Tomorrow is another day and I have a list (I love a list), unfortunately the list is VERY long and I suspect I will prioritise the bits that involve being outside, involve the animals or playing with DD over the cleaning and tidying bits so I may still be living in a mess tomorrow night.
I live in a small village and I have been amused today by how rumours circulate and change over a week or two (these are about property not nasty rumours about people). It almost seems like various people just decide from nowhere what they would like to happen and declare it as loudly and widely as possible as if that will make it true.
Today I am grateful for at least managing the basics of housework, takeaway for tea, a new challenge at work, laughter.6 -
NST #12: FIFTEEN FOR FEBRUARY REPORT
Lived within budget this month which is based on one income.
OH has started up a business and has been working hard on a project for his first client. Going very well so far. It’s early days but we will see how it pans out over the coming months. Treating it as an experiment at this stage. No income as yet.
I was hoping to overpay the mortgage with savings I made this month. But learned that we owe the tax man £1200 for a company car we had last year. It sat in the drive 99% of the time. Anyway, all the little savings we’ve made have been set aside to pay this debt. We’re still short by £300 but will keep plugging away at it.
Pleased with myself for finally reaching 15 NSDs. And I did fairly well on the fruit and veg front.
I’m like the ‘Tiger Who Came To Tea’ when it comes to drinking water from the tap. I drink mostly tea and water. Sometimes add a slice of lemon. In my teens and twenties I drank A LOT of Irn Bru - don’t like the stuff now. I take the odd sip when OH gets the odd can, but never really enjoy it. Maybe it’s because they changed the recipe?!
Disappointingly, I didn’t stick to no takeaways. I had one. An achievement in itself, but it does mean I failed my challenge of having none. And I have lost out on the reward of a fancy bubble bath from the Lake District. Will assign this prize to one of the challenges in March and try again. Though, I am chuffed that I did finish my book and course. And am aiming to finish another book and course in March. Two out of three ain’t bad.
Did some decluttering this month. I’ve got three bags full: one for the charity shop, one for a friend’s baby, and one for a little boy who is the grandson of OH’s auntie.
Thank you fellow turtles for your support and encouragement, and thank you again for the challenge @mothernerd.
See you all in March. March on NSTs!

Life is like a roller coaster. It has it's ups and downs. But it's your choice to scream or enjoy the ride.
When you're experiencing a low point on life's roller coaster, remember, you'll be coming right back up
When the world feels like an emotional roller coaster, steady yourself with simple rituals, Do the dishes, Fold the laundry, Water the plants. Simplicity attracts wisdom.
Choose Joy. Don't wait for things to get easier, simpler, better. Life will always be complicated. Learn to be happy right now. Otherwise you'll run out of time.
Life isn't a race, find joy in the journey.
Have a super Sunday and a Marvellous March
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage5 -
Can't believe it's the last day of February tomorrow. Tesco delivery arriving shortly so I've finished on 18 NSDs, I think. Got a bit spendy in the last week ordering plants, etc but it will be nice to have somewhere to sit if we ever get good weather again.
Failed miserably at the exercise once again and the weight loss but March is another month and another challenge.
Thank you for the challenge, Mothernerd, and for all your quotes, wise words, stories and encouragement. See you all in March.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
