Thanks f0xh0les. Lock down probably won't be ending for us anytime soon. Hoping I might get my first jab sometime mid to late March, then the second one would be June maybe and we will have some protection. She thinks that when I am in my room, I am asleep but I often wake before her (I've been putting the heating on before her getting up time) but I've spent a lot of time over the past two weeks just sorting my space out (and my seedlings). I've redone several of her cupboards as well but she soon forgets things I've done but remembers things I've not done, even if I didn't know they needed doing (because I'm a mind reader). I have looked at some late autumn holidays and there are a couple I would love (a Lake District one where they use small buses to get up into the mountains and there's a visit to the owl sanctuary) but if things are opened up too soon (I'm following the science not what's best for Wetherspoons), I am dreading still being here through next winter (sorry if that sounds really pessimistic, I don't want to bring everyone down). In the evenings I keep sorting the 'new to us' tv out and then leaving her to it, so I'm not being good company (with only my reading glasses I have to sit about 4' from the tv to be able to read the subtitles) but I started her on a series I had started to watch and she's now on episode 29+ and I've only seen the first 8 or 9. Luckily I think there are 77 episodes so probably at least another week's worth before I have to go hunting for films for her again.
Looking on the bright side I'm not going blind any time soon (apart from being so short sighted I can barely make it to the bathroom and back without my glasses). I may have a little cry to help me feel better and I also have triangle chocolate and a bag of jelly babies somewhere in these bags. It's just annoying that I've just spent over an hour crawling around on the floor and on my knees, re-stacking and listing things that were sorted until she decided to pull them out of cupboards. She's also making herself ill doing things that are beyond her and she won't listen and I'm saving my breath for more important arguments. There are things she can do and easier ways of doing them - a lot of what she does is 'busy work' and it often means more work for me. I currently have a load of tins on my floor from pulling specific products out - luckily the only things that fell on me were dried fruit and stock cubes, cans from a carton I had to rip open and pull the cans out of because I got stuck lying nearly flat out on the floor except my neck and head were jammed against this box, 10 jigsaws to go to the far side of the room (once I've moved enough things back into the bottom of the wardrobe to see the floor - have 3 layers of cardboard with no cans in the front half so there is lots of space, it just means getting back down to the floor again). Perhaps I can move the garden chair across and lean forward to do it. OR I may just lie here watching Killing Eve and biting the heads off a few jelly babies. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7 -
Hugs to those who need them.
I have been such a silly turtle this month. When I calculated the monthly budget it was pretty tight and I thought it was due to not getting paid the overtime I was owed. For the last week or so I've been looking at my account thinking there was too much money in there and that I must've forgotten about a payment, but for the life of me couldn't work it out. Anyway, I finally worked out an hour ago while waiting to give blood that I'd completely forgotten the money OH puts in my account to cover the bills, so I had in fact calculated the budget based on my sole income which is why it was so tight! (OH is self employed so has a separate business account). So there is no mystery payment to come out and on the plus side, I've worked out I can cover all our outgoings and save on my income alone if needed (although it was tight). Whatever is left at the end of the month will go nicely towards paying off the clothes I bought and my back treatment.
Today was not a NSD as I bought some bits online for the house to enable me to do a few jobs next week while I'm off work. Nothing planned but much needed!7 -
Evening Turtles.
So today has been a bit bitty - had a nice call with my uni peers, and had lots of starts and stops with work. But all good really. Cleaned and tidied my work desk area, although the desk drawer is a diaster! Maybe nex week. My DGF is not comming until tomorrow, I was going to go to the shop, but I am doing without and so another NSD, whoop. Took the bin out and did the recycling - it was quite an achievement.
Still in quite a funk, but I think it might be lifting. We will see, easy does it.
Grateful for

NSD 14, I have done a little 'Hammer Therapy' and I am 3/4 of the way to getting another frog-ephant off my list. Did consider setting fire to it - it would finish the job - but would leave me with melted plastic all over the place, so I will just keep on removing it bit by bit. Probably less than half an hour will see it done, but it started raining so I played the 'water soluble' card and it will be completed another day.I have made a list of things which will be finished by the end of the month. Feeling quite organised!I am going to make shortbread and scones today, a plum crumble, and some pastry to make pasties with for lunch tomorrow.I am definitely anxious about the Monday Announcement, so I can either drive myself (and everybody else) insane until he starts talking, or sit quietly, submerge myself in a book, and eat a scone. The scones have it! The scones have it! -said in my best Bercow voice. No doubt he will schedule his podium mounting for 5pm when I am at the f/b anyway.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Finally got Mr Porridge to make a decision on a new desk to go in the front box room / bed room, I've been using a very Heath Robinson affair using a chest of drawers and some planks, delivery for the 1 March. We have been checking all the cheap / freebie sites for a few weeks but haven't found anything that would work, money is in the budget so no problem. Not a no spending day as its Mr Porridge's shopping day, I sent him to buy something from the independent cheese shop just to support them and he came back with two nice bits of cheese and a full round of president brie having paid 50p for the latter as it was yesterday's date. Can't be bad.Mortgage Free 23 December 2020

Did some of my PT role and qualification this afternoon too.
