Hi everyone
Today has been very spendy. My car had to go for service and MOT and cost over £100 for an LED brake bulb and brake fluid. I walked home from the garage and then back later - took 2 hours so i definitely did my 10k steps todayI called at the SM on the way home for a birthday present for my friend and bought 3 x outdoor hyacinths for £5, one for her and the others for me and got some chocs for her too. i did my exercise class when i got home even though my feet were aching!
Gratitudes - my car got cleaned after the service and looks lovely inside and out; cheerful hyacinths; relaxing bath to soothe away all my aches

Yesterday was lots of tidying. now have 5 cube boxes lined up across 2 sets of drawers, with a piece of bathroom cladding across (waterproof so the boxes don't get damaged), 5 large and 6 medium compost filled mushroom boxes on top. All the seedlings were watered and checked, the pea shoots were harvested. I went round the yard with a large clear plastic bag, gathering up stray clean 2 l bottles (for reuse in the garden) then all the other ones in the shed (picked up another 2 part filled clear sacks - each holds between 25 and 30 bottles, counted for a rough idea not exactitude), all 3 bags now stashed behind the shed, shouldn't blow away.
Put all the yoghurt cartons (first size plant pots for the seedlings) in a bag for life, found my tool box, broke up the box it was in and added it to the paper bin (put the tub of fat balls in the top yesterday to weight down what was in there and have made another 10" of space). Found buried treasure in the shed - a pack of 6 x 1 l bottles of fizzy water. Made enough space to shove the rotary dryer back in there and shut the door. Back inside, have collected and folded 9 bags for life, all in one of the bags now, which have been emptied over the past few days. Reverted back to easy sewing as it uses quite a lot of thread and will restart a cushion for myself to use a whole section of colours. Sorting the embroidery/ sewing/ general craft stuff is the next major task.
Food was all use ups (took a pack of wraps up to use some opened cheese spread, the last of the ham and the pea shoots). Checked what time the food delivery was due today and it hadn't gone through so booked another delivery slot 8 pm - 9 pm this evening. Most of the daytime slots are gone for a few days ahead, this one just scrapes in before curfew (alarm on the door sets automatically) and I have been having smaller orders and stretching them to 9 - 10 days apart. I'm confident that my basic stocks (of anything that won't go off) are sufficient to cover any missing items. I have been using up any fresh veg (loads of veg in everything) and have made space for frozen veg in this delivery. Still discovering little treats tucked in odd corners and enjoying cooking much more. One load of washing done late on.

Thank you, Apple. It was all fine and he enjoyed his pasta but he was "jittery" all evening. He said it had been a bad day. I don't know what's happened to him. He used to be quite a confident person. Travelled all around Europe on his own booking trains and hotels as he went along. Now he just doesn't seem to be able to do anything like make appointments or phone calls, do his own banking, etc. Don't think this lockdown is helping either. Still, today's another day and I'm sure he'll be fine.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7

@apple-muncher, making the announcement on teams would have made perfect sense and as you say allow people to go away and think about it. I think it's largely a power play by our deputy, a case of doing things because he can. I was in yesterday and (in my role as a difficult woman) challenged the H&S man who had been made to write a risk assessment regarding having the meeting about including staff having a lateral flow test beforehand, as using the test to enable people to do something that is not essential is not a licensed use of the test. I felt quite bad as he's actually a good friend of mine and comes in to deliver parcels to our families, still its this kind of thinking that leads to problems later.
Well the strangest item we had delivered yesterday was some very very large swedes, but I think the local populace will know what they are and how to cook them, I also dropped of 48 cans of tuna to the food bank as Fareshare are sending us 48 cans a week and I think people must be getting a bit tired of them. They'll give us a surplus item back at a later stage.
Dinner at MIL was survivable, we had Morris*n's pizza which is a new one, as she doesn't like pizza but it was a dinner I didn't have to cook and didn't include any strange combinations.Mortgage Free 23 December 2020

Well, Himself doesn't seem to have any adverse reactions to his jab so that's a positive.
Got a letter from the lovely cousin today enclosing some of her simple baking recipes. I must put all these together so that when I start baking properly I know where they all are. But first we must use up all the cakes that we've bought. Quite a lot to be going on with. Himself has a very sweet tooth.
I feel that I'm not achieving very much at the moment as well. Must try harder.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
Evening all, didn't check in yesterday as was out and about at work, but notched up another NSD. Not so today, bought some protein bars and powder, a planned spend but did spend a tad more than expected.
My decision to do a balance transfer was definitely the right one, the transfer fee turned out to be the same as the monthly interest I'd be paying had I left it as it was!
One more day at work and then I have a week off to do... more nothing! Did consider carrying the leave over as we're allowed to carry over extra but decided I need the time off even if I do get bored.5 -
My weekend starts here! Whoop whoop!Did the volunteering, came home, made a nice stew and mash with kale. Going to watch the football, and then have a squizz at NASA TV to see the Mars landing.Might have a hot chocolate. Feel much more like myself today.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Thursday- NSD 11/15.
Fitted dog walks in round a hectic day at work, not done much else.
Grateful today that I finish at lunchtime tomorrow, then off all weekend, a work colleague sorting out some paperwork which will help all of us out (it took her several hours and means the rest of us can read a couple of pages and have the up to date info) and flowers on my kitchen windowsill looking cheerful and Spring-like.6
