Evening all, busy few days here. NSD yesterday but not today. Sold some books and got them posted, should get those funds soon, also sent back a blouse from my recent clothing order. Paid for physio, parking and a car wash today. Shopping coming later today as well.
Got my cc statement through and had perhaps been a bit naive about the interest I'd be paying on my back procedure. It was made worse by not being paid the £350 odd overtime I was due last month which would've made a big dent in it before the statement was was due. Checked my accounts and was able to do request a 0% money transfer to pay it off to avoid more monthly interest. I should have it cleared in a few months but at least there is less pressure this way.7 -

hi all
NSD #10 today. Back to work and not too many emails waiting for me, loads of people off for 1/2 term so quite peaceful. Had a video call to catch up with my colleague. Had a walk at lunch and dropped card off at friend's house - from my card stash. Had a phone call with both DDs. Going to make pancakes this eve and eat them all myself
Gratitudes - nice day at work; pancakes for tea, all ingredients from stores; lighter evenings

Hugs @DrCarrie. Blah is a good way to describe these days.
First, the good... NSD 8/15, 1500ml water, leftovers for lunch, meal-planned homemade burgers for dinner, and a good walk with OH after finishing work today.
Great laundry drying day so I did two loads of washing. Looking forward to more bright and breezy days like today.
And now the bad... the taxman says OH has underpaid tax. Now awaiting a £1200 tax bill for a company car which lay in the driveway for 4 months unused. And our 4-year-old tv has developed a terrible dark shadow across the screen. It’s really impacting the image and annoying us. It’s out of warranty but I’ve been in touch with the seller to see if there’s anything they can do. Four years seems too soon for a fairly expensive tv to go on the blink. It may end up in the purchase of a new tv. Not happy about this potential big expense.
Blah!
Grateful for a dry day, a good walk, and the good book I’m currently reading in the evenings before bed.

Not a NSD today as I was down to two teabags so popped out to Lidl, bought teabags, a packet of reduced, chilli flavoured sausages, two packets of bulbs (one for MIL) and some sweet potato fries for tonights dinner, we had them with a quiche made using the last of Sunday's gammon.
In school tomorrow to do the Fareshare parcels, then off till next Monday, we've been asked to go in for a meeting. I've queried whether its a good idea to get a load of staff in for a meeting in the middle of a pandemic and have been told that its about an important change that the head feels we need discuss face to face. I have now queried if its so important why we are attempting it in the middle of a pandemic - no reply so far. I'm also down to supervise one of the key worker groups on the Friday so I'll been Mon, Weds and Friday.
Grateful for not running out of tea, a nice lie in and having the money in the bank to pay for Mr Porridge's glasses.Mortgage Free 23 December 2020

Tuesday- NSD 10/15.
So many days are Blah just now, I think everyone is having them and it's so much worse in winter. I have to confess though, I've had the opposite of a Blah day! Nothing major to make it a good day, but the sun was shining, the sky was blue and that always helps. Work was busy, the pony had lot of scritches and DD was in cuddle mode. My legs don't ache after running yesterday. Add in that when I picked DD up, mum sent me home with my dinner so I didn't have to cook and I've nothing to be complaining about.
Am now collapsed on the sofa watching The Serpent.
Hope all you turtles have a better day tomorrow, virtual hugs all round dispersed as required.7 -
Boris's big old announcement is on Monday @Porridgecat so the head may well have had the 'heads up' about something. Plus Scotland is going back next week, and where Scotland goes, we follow. Keep all the windows open and do the mask + visor + bright blue gloves combination (the black gloves just make you look like The Phantom Strangler).Right! Today is going to be a good day, because I said so. See you all later, and do something you enjoy.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

@foxholes, I think its about switching back to a two year keystage 4, we've been doing a three year GCSE for about 12 years but the fashion seems to be to go back to a two year one.
I'm up earlier today as I'm in school to do Fareshare parcels, we will see what random delights we get today.
Dinner at MIL tonight, longstanding obligation, it can be good, bad or indifferent. Both the food and the company. (She's in our bubble) I'm grateful though to have my dinner cooked for me (this might be retracted later if its a bit weird) and for not needing to clean the kitchen.Mortgage Free 23 December 2020

Porridge, that still doesn't warrant getting you all in one room, in my opinion. We have had 3 major announcements (re our pensions, the future of the school and then the retirement of the head...) so far this academic yr, all via Teams... Also, you're only going to get knee jerk reactions to the news. Why not announce it online, give people a few days to consider it, then have an online meeting where everyone can contribute in a thoughtful manner?
