1st - No spend
2nd - Spent 11 pounds on plants. House plants. it is a bit silly but I was so upset about Captain Tom and yesterday was a hard day.
3rd - No spend. Hard day but I spoke to my friend whilst on my walk. I just have to continue with my plan. And I must speak to more people!
Grateful for the dishwasher repair man.
XXXNevertheless she persisted.9 -
Evening!
A spend day today - bought a book on 'finding your purpose' as am feeling very disillusioned with work right now... and got a few essentials. Got my walk in and a meditation today so pleased with that. Not much movement on the de-clutter front - tomorrow will be better!

Wide awake at 3am because my brain decided this would be a great time to plan today’s work. I’ll probably be too tired come 9am to do any of it.
Wednesday was NSD 2, drank 2000ml water, had a short brisk walk after dinner in the wind and rain.
Sold DS’s baby car seat on gummytree so that’s cleared a good bit of space and made a decent bit of cash for a mortgage OP.
After MSE newsletter yesterday morning, I quickly opened an instant access savings to get a whopping(!) 0.5% interest. I suppose it’s better than the 0.1% I currently have. I remember years ago, when I was a student, having an account paying 7% interest!
Grateful for OH’s homemade bagels, some cash and some space from gummytree sale, a walk, and to be warm and safe under my own roof.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸9 -

SIMPLICITY
"Outer order contributes to inner calm" Gretchen Rubin
Sometimes the only way to figure out what is really important is to get rid of everything that isn't
Make it simple but significant
To help with mental clutter I found this (a printable) and thought it might help
My Not To Do List
Scribble down your ideas under the following headings
1) Stuff that distracts me and wastes my time
2) Stuff that stresses me out and gives me anxiety
3) Stuff that drains my energy
4) Stuff I feel obligated to do
5) Stuff that doesn't actually need to be done
6) Stuff I can't control or that isn't my responsibility
Now work out
My top five Not-to-dos
My Brain Dump List (ourmindfullife.com)
Procrastinations
Fear
Anger
Discouragements
Incomplete goals
Sorrow
You need to pause and work out what the real issue is
It is worth noting that 'wasting time' isn't always a bad thing. I do paper puzzles and play some (simple match 3) online games. It relaxes me and makes me happy (except when the rabbit steals my carrots). Sometimes it's 'down time', sometimes it's 'busy work' (I am avoiding getting on with things that need doing) - the trick is recognising which is which. Both activities have a broader purpose as mental health indicators - when I struggle to do simple puzzles or (as the other day) I 'flit' between puzzles, books, films and can't settle to any of them, something is wrong and I need to work out what it is.
Some people want a big house, a fast car and lots of money.
Some people want a tiny cabin in the woods, away from those kind of people. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage11 -
@mothernerd I love your not to do list - I need one of those!
I am upset this morning as I have had a big fat no from student finance - I can't get funding for the masters I have been accepted at - I already have a masters but in a different subject and not in this country. And I have to wait 5-7 days for a letter with an explanation, but it doesn't say a date for when they made the decision. I have limited patience with online platforms these days!
I am taking this as a sign to just get on with job searching and to be confident in my own skills and experience.
I think I'm on NSD 5, slightly cheating as my February started on the 27th when I got paid.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Tuesday and Wednesday were both NSD so I'm at 3/15. Not sure if today will stay one, as I'm not sure if I need to go to B & Q for more painting supplies.I've not been on my step game, but it's been very wet, I've been tired. I'm grateful for taking a day off today, in order to crack on with the painting, the the lie in this morning it afforded me!February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00

Oh no! I’m sorry about your masters ditty.
Toni’s friend loads of books sounds like the perfect present to me!
I haven’t posted for a couple of days. I am on NSD 2nd today might be 3 if I can persuade bf not to get our usual (cheap) takeaway tonight. Due to the fact that when I finished my class at 8pm yesterday he informed me that he’d already ordered a takeaway so that I couldn’t argue! Oh go on then. But that’s the second he’s had this week. haha
Yesterday I batch cooked soup (which didn’t get eaten) and oatmeal. Spoke to my mum and dad , also managed to go to the gym, meditate and read.
Haven’t managed any exercise yet today though.
I'm grateful for a cosy warm bed, for some things starting to click into place, for a free relaxing hour.
I’m off to think about mothernerd’s not to do list!

NSD No 3. My little food processor broke whilst I was blending the soup. Totally not fixable as the bit that snapped was vital and it was very old and a cheapo purchase at the time I bought it.. So, I've ordered another but I did have an Amazon voucher that I was given for Christmas and had no idea what to spend it on so that's paid for it.
The bits and bobs soup was lovely and I've got pork chops in the slow cooker with onions, peppers and tomatoes so keeping up with the veg eating and still mostly drinking water.
Pay day tomorrow so budget all worked out today. All looking OK and on track.
Got another book from Himself today. He'd pre-ordered it at Christmas. Lots and lots to read now.
Still cold and sleety so I'm very grateful for being in a warm house.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
NSD 1 today !! At last. Well that took a long time didn't it?Work is over and the weekend starts here for me. I have food in the house and will try not to spend again until Monday. My plans involve lots of cooking, lots of cleaning, making £10 off p/a, and taking two elephants off my list before Monday morning.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
