Well day 2 of this challenge and I had to spend again. Neighbour had a nasty fall walking her doggy, cut herself badly and another friend got taken into hospital just got some little bunches of flowers for them and some chocolate, have to admit to eating one chocolate bar as fed up. oops Seem to be having problems with my tummy again, and chocolate won't really help but I still ate it.Went for a lovely walk along the seafront after work yesterday, sun was shining and this old guy started chatting to me. Made me laugh so much telling me about how he was a musician and where he used to play locally really cheered me up and some local history thrown into the mix. Still very sad to see the lifeboat and coastguard still searching for the fishermen who never returned last week. When I got home met new neighbour across the road with an 8 week old gorgeous border collie pup. So jealous that is my sort of doggy, offered to help out if needed.Tomorrow will be a NSD feeling determined.Grateful forBeing left alone in my office today as stomach is aching.Chocolate first food enjoyed in last 2 days.Nearly hometimeLBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/228

I have been playing around with calculations and on my current salary I should be able to save 22K towards a house deposit by summer 2026!! This assumes I have summer work which is by no means guaranteed. So I want to put away the figure of €400-500 per month BEFORE spending (income not fixed) and add any extra earnings towards this figure.
To do this I really need to open a savings account. At the moment I just have current account here and low rates of interest are putting me off. But I need to be able to visualise the “pot” of savings.
FIFTEEN NSD - I will try! Today was 1!
FOOD AND DRINK - In Feb I want to keep up the batch cooking and continue to add new recipes to my repertoire. Try to limit the pigging out at weekends.
FAKEAWAYS - Yes yes yes! My bf also suffers from this addiction. He’s already had a takeaway this week. I used to be but no longer. As someone else said, I’ll leave bf to his devices (and vices!) and join in maybe once or twice a month when its cheap. I am going to meal plan. Need to use up some food that’s lurking.
EXERCISE - Plan to gym alternate days and walk and listen to podcasts on the days in between.
FEELINGS / FOCUS - I have realised I need to read, meditate and take some time to move my body every day. Also I will make a real effort to keep in touch with family and write gratitudes.
FLIGHTS OF FANCY - I love many things about my life, but I suffer from grass is always greener syndrome. In retrospect this has been a positive in some ways as it has made me impulsively change things about my life without regret, but now thinking more about the future, I would like to study and work towards changing career, but not for the outcomes, more importantly to enjoy the process. I know this will mean studying part time which I swore the last time I’d never do again, haha.
I do want a career that will allow me to live both here and in the UK . I want a house, eventually.
FUN AND FIZZ - January taught me that I really don’t need alcohol. I am at my best when limited to 1 or 2 and I need to remember that I don’t need it to survive social situations. I am forgetting grand plans, and focusing on the day to day. I like that. I think I am becoming more mindful, more attentive.
FOOD BANKS - I will donate this month and research other ways to help
FIND THE BEST PRICE - I am waiting to buy things which bf is putting pressure on me to buy!! Namely a phone and a winter coat, both of which I don’t need need right now but which would probably be useful to organise soon. I think I drive him crazy in this regard, but maybe I am also rubbing off a little MSE onto him.

Hoe you feel better soon, Calling.
Not an NSD. Made a donation on line to the local foodbank and set up a monthly standing order as I won't be able to physically get there anytime soon.
No snow here but absolutely freezing and sleety so not a day for walking or doing anything outside.
Didn't manage everything on my list today. Think I was a bit over optimistic on what I could do. Still I've got it written down for tomorrow.
Vegetable soup for lunch. Must start eating more fruit as well. Don't suppose a slice of blueberry loaf counts? No, I didn't think so.
Started a great new book last night. I'm already about half way through. Must dig out my little radio to listen to some nice music whilst I'm reading.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -
NSD 1 today. DH has actually gone into the 'real' office today! I've had a fairly chilled day - some baking, some housework and a nice walk with DS3 where we fed the swans
Veg - coleslaw and onion and cucumber at lunchtime. Dinner will be more coleslaw, a large side salad and corn on the cob - bit light today, but I'm not going to beat myself up over it
Decluttering - 4 items gone via 0lio today and flebay sale boxed up ready to be collected tomorrow (so a box and a pile of packaging going along with it)

NSD number one today woohoo! Technically did spend as needed painkillers but counting it as a health spend. Busy day with work which is good as it stops me wanting to spend!
Today I'm grateful for walking longer than I've managed since my back procedure, a bit of chocolate, and podcasts to help me through work.9 -
Today I am grateful for a day off work, for a walk with a friend, for my counsellor, for my jigsaw, for dark purple croci.

And I just really enjoyed walking with ds to have a chat about this and that. Starting to read the academic book I have been asked to review - it is heavy going.
Grateful car went through MOT on budget, service seemed a bit dear though!
Grateful for ds1 being somewhat cheerful in his uni house, by himself, lets see how long that lasts. He is supposed to be back Saturday when he is done with library and research and focussing on his dissertation.

Saved money off petrol this week so paid £5 off cc to bring DFD forward.
Had to buy eggs, was hoping to get from a farm with an honesty box but there were none left. Had to go to Mr S so never bought just eggs! Spent £3.80 so NSD still 1/15, but at least had a 20 minutes walk ✅
No f&v today but under calorie allowance so happy with that. Tea for drinks.
Grateful for a day off to spend time properly with DS. Finished his schoolwork and we made a school cake tray bake for this weeks cubs challenge. Spent some time planning and doing lists. So not a bad day at all.Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£2609 -
NSD 1/15 still. £2 on stuff I’d forgotten in my big shop - not impressed with myself. 1000mls water, deeelicious mushroom soup made from 0lio ingredients for lunch, meal-planned black bean quesadillas with coriander and lime rice for dinner, but sadly no walk today. Like @Toni'sfriend, it was Baltic here with sleet. Toni’sfriend - are you in Glasgow by any chance?
Listed a couple of DS’s things on gummytree - car seat and shoes. Great if they sell but will donate if they don’t.
In my bed already and about to read my book.
Grateful today for tea in bed, a tasty lunch, an early night.
