Thought I would come back to share incase it helps anyone else that stumbles across this post ๐
We received our mortgage offer on Friday - we are over the moon ๐ก๐๐พ. As stated above I had a default from 2017 that was satisfied in July 2020 showing on my credit file (no other issues) so I was feeling rather anxious that it wasnโt going to work out but here we are ๐. Our timeline is below -ย ย
19th January- dip received and full application submitted. Hard check and valuation fee taken.
26th January- MA advised a delay with the valuation, he chased up Halifax and it was booked in for 4th Feb
4th Feb- valuation completedย
5th Feb - official offer issued ๐
Good luck to anyone else waiting on their application with Halifax ๐ค๐ป0 -
We submitted our full application last Friday via Halifax mortgage advisor and have our valuation booked for today. I am assuming itโs in person as was coordinated through the EA.ยOh so nervous I think Iโve just about chewed all my nails off.ย0

Just been notified that our 90% LTV mortgage offer has gone through!ยCannot believe how quickly the process has been. Me and hubs only had to provide our most recent payslip. Really surprised that I didnโt have to provide more information as I am on a spouse visa with limited leave to remain. Was told that as long as I had been in the country for 5+ years all would be fine as long as I could provide a bank statement ect. However my credit score dates back to 2016 which was sufficient.ย29/4 - DIP
30/4 - Full application submitted over video call via Halifax MA
4/5 - Valuation booked for the 6th
5/5 - Quick identity check via video call for OH as he was an absent applicantย
6/5 - Valuation completeย
7/5 - Mortgage offer (letter should arrive in post early next week!)0 -

Congratsย @deltrotter &ย ย @mjane93.ย
Not quite as quick for us thus far, but still not too bad.
Applied direct for a 95% LTV mortgage on 26/4 and were asked to provide 3 payslips for myself plus my partners signed employment contract (she hasn't had a payslip in her new job yet). However, my employers name wasn't on the payslip so they asked for bank statements to see the credit going in presumability so they could confirm the employers name. After that was looked at, they noticed that the middle initial on the payslip didn't match so asked for a letter from my employer stating my full name and why they had it was wrong.
After submitting all that, I got a call last Wednesday afternoon saying the income was now all verified and they were booking in the valuation. I'm slightly concerned that the tracker is still saying the valuation needs to be booked, but hopefully that will update. Did other people notice if the tracker updated after the valuation was booked to show the date or did it jump straight to the valuation outcome?
So in reality it took 6 business days to get through income verification, and that's with a couple of queries as well. It's taking Halifax about 1.5 days to look at paperwork sent through the portal, so not too bad I think considering how some other providers are performing.ย
23/4 - AIP
24/4 - Call with Halifax MA to go through application. Mortgage illustration emailed.
26/4 - 2nd call with MA to proceed with application (MA said had to wait 48 hours after illustration issued apparently)
5/5 - Call to confirm income verified and proceed with valuation.
