I have got all my fingers and toes crossed for you. I know how bad the waiting is.
We were lucky and only had a 3 day wait from submitting the application to getting the mortgage approved. We submitted the application on 12.01.21, the physical valuation was carried out on 13.01.21 and the mortgage was approved on 15.01.21. We are just waiting for the mortgage offer paperwork to arrive now.1 -
Thank you for your comments! The AIP has been approved today and they’ve just taken the £200 valuation fees.
Apparently it’s been passed on to the underwriter now so hopefully by next week we’ll have a decision 🤞🏼🤞🏼.1 -
2 soft searches and Hard check on credit file have just appeared 😬0

If its a straight forward case then Halifax seem to be quite fast at the moment.
I got my mortgage approved in 2 days when I applied in October with Halifax. My application went in on 19th Oct, desktop valuation carried out on the 20th Oct and it was approved on the 21st Oct. My solicitor sent me a copy of the offer on Friday 23rd Oct.
Good Luck! xx1 -
Does anyone know Halifax's criteria for defaults? We are looking for remortgage at 60 LTV but have a 5 year old mobile phone default for less than £100. Currently with an adverse lender as there was 3 more defaults but these have now dropped off. Thanks

See my timeline for my experience.
I’m still waiting to exchange as the local authority has taken what feels like forever to do return all of the search info. Good luck! 🤞FTB with Halifax

I’ve just had my mortgage approved and my credit report was bad in my opinion. Got accepted through Halifax using a mortgage broker, had AIP last week. Full mortgage application today, 3pm confirmed some details and by 3:30pm called back that the mortgage is accepted. All that worry thinking it will take weeks and it took 30 minutes. I had CCJ on my credit file and also a default. Due to come off in 6 monthsscoey8 said:Does anyone know Halifax's criteria for defaults? I’ve been up every night looking at stuff made me feel really anxious all week thinking it will be declined when the application goes through. If people are like me searching every night, just trust in the system. My credit score Experian is 620 and in the poor band, CCJ £350 5 and half years ago, default virgin bill wasn’t aware off due to come off in 6 months as well. Never give up hope of getting a mortgage for your dream home. I got a decision in 30 minutes using a mortgage broker , it’s all subject to valuation but all necessary checks are done now. Can relax now 😁😁😁. Good luck all. Any questions please ask5
