Where do yo get threatening from?
The perspective of the person opening the door to get someone complaining about their parking.
Do you honestly believe that the OP is going to chap on the door and just say "Sorry to bother you, but you crashed into my car the other day, anyway I'll be off, have a nice day!"?

So from what's posted what do you believe the threat will be?
  • OP, you’ve seemingly built up this minor incident into more than what it actually was because it’s the third time it’s happened.

However, I assume the most recent careless driver wasn’t responsible for the previous two incidents and as such your (understandable) frustration is perhaps unfairly weighted against the most recent transgressor.

As others have said, a doorstep ‘chat’ could possibly escalate into physical confrontation;...it’s just not worth it...and to what end?

For your own peace-of-mind put it down to experience,...learn from it...and move on.

Many people don’t give a toss about their own cars or the damage they inflict on others and I doubt that’ll change anytime soon. You need to take all reasonable measures to keep your car well away from them,...and even then they’ll eventually get’ya!

Busy car-parks;...I avoid them like the plague if I can.

It only needs to appear threatening to the person opening the door for the person opening the door to feel justified in giving him a black eye.
I honestly can't see how you can "pull the guy up and let him know that you can't go around knocking into people's cars without any come back" in a way that isn't going to be a bit threatening, otherwise there's no "come back".

How do you think that conversation is actually going to go?

That's what you think will happen not what the OP said will happen.

Maybe they'll hug it out and all will be well, maybe it's frail old woman who will deck the OP with a one bomb without giving him a chance to speak and be threatening.

This thread has got way out of hand with everyone talking about threats and door step punch ups. I never once said I was going to go around and confront or threaten anyone. As far as "come backs" are concerned this could have been done via a stern albeit polite letter. I would have said no more to them than I would've face to face had I caught them in the act. If they chose to ignore it then fair enough, at least I made my disappointment known. That's all what this was about, nothing more, so I think some of you need to reel in your imaginations a bit.

It's done now and I moved on, I suggest you guys do the same.

I don't think it's been me that's built this incident up, just read the responses in this thread.

    Some just love a drama.

Perhaps it was your thread-starter desire to ‘track down’ the driver that gave the wrong impression.

What other words would you use?  Nothing wrong with tracking down an address to send correspondence to.

My last post was just a bit of light-hearted nonsense;...obviously not as transparent as I thought.  :s
