Terrible idea. You'll gain nothing from it and have plenty to lose, especially if it later transpires you got their address fraudulently should the other party involve the police over you coming to their door to shout at them.neilmcl said:All I want from this is the satisfaction of being able to pull the guy up and let him know that you can't go around knocking into people's cars without any come back. Maybe he might take it on board and be a bit more careful in future. Nothing more sinister than that.
You won't change their behaviour, you might get a black eye.

Bad, bad idea. You never know who the driver might be, or who they know.

A black eye crosses the threshold for ABH.

Maybe but deny the offence and unless there's any evidence other than the word of the victim CPS won't authorise a charge.AdrianC said:

I think you'd have a hard time being convicted for giving someone a black eye if they turned up at your door randomly and started threatening you. You'd also have to be an idiot to involve the police if you fraudulently acquired someones address with the express intention of going to their door to threaten them; you'd get no sympathy from the police and be looking at much more serious charges.

The perspective of the person opening the door to get someone complaining about their parking.williamgriffin said:Where do yo get threatening from?
Do you honestly believe that the OP is going to chap on the door and just say "Sorry to bother you, but you crashed into my car the other day, anyway I'll be off, have a nice day!"?
