Thanks for the recipe - however the pan would not be in the same room as the children so it possibly won't work as i have a Risk Assessment to follow.
Spent the morning on school stuff inc. commenting on work and making the final two phone calls to speak to families who aren't sending their children in; so that's another box ticked.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I am about to eat slightly overcooked Twinks because my new oven is far more efficient than the old one, but I'm sure I'll manage. Have also walked the dogs again now it is allowed more than once.Spend less now, work less later.9

Place tidied up
Shopping done
DD2 is having a rollercoaster day with school not approving the placement, another interview, a refusal, I don't doubt that she will find something, she has some very good skills but her confidence is taking a hammering. Her ups and downs are wearing me out too. but it's the weekend.
Snow forecast again, but shopping is done so we can enjoy it from in front of the fire.
Hoping everyone will relax and enjoy the weekend.9 -

Mademoiselle DS2 has applied for loads of jobs without success and I think he has pretty much given up, and yes it really does knock their confidence. He got invited to interview for a job he really wanted (shop work) and they were given group tasks to do which he said was like something out of the apprentice - and the people he got put with were hopeless. He is at Uni so a job isnt essential but he could do with the extra money.
A good day here, happier, perhaps helped by the fact that it's Friday. Paid stuff done. Cold and sunny so I did a brisk 2.5 mile walk at lunchtime. I have just taken the washing off the airer and put in the tumbler, something with oven chips for tea, have run around downstairs with my cordless hoover which has just started blocking all the time and I cant work out how to fix it. It's very old, I might buy a new one, anyone got any recommendations?

Valli.. I don't melt stuff for twinks.. though keeping the syrup warm is very much advised.. I also use 1oz less sugar because it's disgustingly sweet otherwise.

Another mix 'n' match day - have decided that my target is to do the proper list on alternate weeks! woke to sun and a lot of frost.
- one load washing done in wm including bed linen, all hung out and brought in.
- one load through dw
- went to Mr T to buy flowers, erred on side of caution in case I mess up so we are surrounded by flowers again. Stopped off at friend's house to raid her garden of greenery then picked a load from ours. Will put oasis in to soak overnight then hope the planned arrangement goes well tomorrow.
- spent much of the day editing / reviewing various bits of various eulogy/speeches. Seems the celebrant isn't all that good at IT which has been a bit of a problem, but think we've finally sorted it all, deleted old versions and sent her the final one. Got Word to read it aloud so we could time it; it's also easier to proof read anyway (with my SpLD tutor head on).
- did drum practice
- made a chilli for the next couple of nights.
- watched a fairly uninteresting Zoom AGM of one of my professional bodies.
- talked my mum into sorting out what she'd done to upset FB on her tablet, luckily my guess was correct and she was overjoyed, having thought she'd 'lost everything'.
- ordered fitting of new radiators. We'd asked the engineer, when the heating was finally fixed, if it would be a good idea to replace some of our 30+ year old rads, so he measured, did a quote for the one we wanted and we've booked for 2 Feb.
- still culling old paperwork; why exactly do I still have bank statements from 2006? I can feel a confidential-waste bonfire coming on.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
hi ladies, sorry i've been MIA the past couple of weeks, my OH was feeling unwell he had a blood test that revealed his kidneys had stopped working, cue a short stay in hospital, multiple blood tests and appointments. 2 weeks later and it seems he has a condition which causes too much calcium in his blood, this caused the kidney problem, they are slowly recovering and the Dr says it should regain functionality but possibly some minor damage. He also has a growth on his spleen which might be a swollen lymph node, we'll know more after the CT results. So my time has been sat in the hospital car park for hours on end, haha. On the flylady side he is on steroids and eating all the food up so nothing is going to waste
