Thank you Jazee and round. Pleased to report that I slept pretty well and have no pain this morning. DH is pleased with me for "doing what you find most difficult" yesterday, i.e. nothing!!! (Little does he know...
).
Whilst drinking my first cuppa of the day, I decided on a whim to clear the table in the utility. This is where the bits of the little footstool, fabric and various tools had been left until I could get my head round reupholstery. The table is now clearOnce I had decided that it wasn't worth the effort of using tacks - not to mention the pain of hammering my fingers - and that the staple gun would be perfectly adequate for something of absolutely no value except a bit of sentiment (the footstool, which is about 10 inches square by 3 inches high, used to be one of my playthings when I was little: anything from a throne for my teddy to a ramp for toy cars) it was a relatively quick and easy job to re-cover the frame. One more thing off my Toots list
Other dailies are done, and clean washing has been FUPA. I think I'll go madand continue the dot-to-dot in the utility by sorting out the pot plants on the draining board while I drink my coffee - there's room for a couple of them on the landing windowsill, and the rest are only fit for the green bin. Then I'm going to sort out more family papers until lunchtime. We have a family funeral via Z00m at 1.30: an 82yo second cousin on my father's side, who I only ever met once, but her older son made contact with me a couple of years ago via a genealogy group: J had had Alzheimer's for the past 5 years, and the service will be a celebration of her long and otherwise happy life. The sun shine is supposed to be with us until 5.00, so I can safely leave Rosie's walk until later.
Valli, your pupil and my DGS4 would make a good double act as TV presenters!

Hugs to Dancemum and Lifeatthekings xx
Valli, I miss the little ones, I'm up in yr 5 and 6 this year ( T.A in a Welsh school).
Off today and I'm afraid to say not looked at the list. Tried to look at online work but the dog wanted to help!!! I have done dishes and some washing, been to the shop while DD had some driving practice, picked up doggie mess and wiped down some of kitchen worktops.
Going to have a look at the list after I strip bedding (guessing that's on there for today) and put it in the wash xx

Rest in peace Dancegran. Much love from here x
Valli I had to listen to myself in a Zoom meeting today, every third word was "um" as in "I think we should, um, get some costings first then we can, um, have another look and, um, see if we need more, um, quotes". For goodness sake I sounded so dim, what on earth was I doing!!?? This was in front of a dozen other people as well. I need to sort myself out.
Pigpen DS had a phone appointment with the consultant yesterday. He was at work and told them this when they made the appointment. Work have had a big crackdown on staff using phones and his boss is being an @rse at the moment. Complete waste of time. Hope your cold gets better soon x
Strange day. Lots of flooding around here, DS was worried he wouldnt get to work, but river levels are dropping. Been thinking about Dizzy. Paid stuff done, I just cant get enthusiastic about it. DH at home again, work cancelled, so thats another worry.
Fish pie out of the freezer eaten, oven scrubbed, feet up now, will do some yoga later.8 -
Morning everyone, another wet and windy night here. Last night I got home from work to dinner cooked, DD2 had made chocolate mousse and then had turned the bolognese into lasagna. She had another call from a company who had turned her down last week, this time it was the managing director who she had met at a job dating event saying he was still interested but for a different project. She is feeling so much more confident now and it comes across in her interviews I think and also what have all these companies been doing since the start of the year, she applied in December. Double nationality is an interesting one, some people see it as an asset as it confirms she is really fluent and able to work in English, others see it as a problem when getting security clearance especially if working on defense contracts. DD1 home tonight too so I will be very happy.
Bed made, clothes picked up
Kitchen was put to bed last night, OH unloaded DW
So I need to put away WU that LTD last night
Sort out click and collect for this afternoon or tomorrow morning
Try cleaning up the manky (full of limescale) loo to see if it needs replacing when we decorate. Also need to wash the ceiling reading for painting.
Breakfast and banking next, with coffee
Best SMILE on and let's go.

Mademoiselle that is good news for your DD, the last company wanted people fluent in other languages, I hope she find some thing that is good for here.Well the sun is out here, the very gale force winds have dropped to a light breeze.I have so far today touched up the paint work around the house that has been knocked or marked, the cat now has a small pale blue strip on his tail! I have cleaned off what I can.Bathroom is done.Dinner is sorted for tonight, jacket spuds.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Up (early for me) on a non-at work (but still working) day. Washing on line; bunnies on garden, breakfast scoffed, WUALTP; cat saucers now soaking (proper plastic ones). I bought ingredients for playdough to be made Wednesday; I have some left so I'm thinking of letting the littlies bake, probably on Friday when there are fewer in (I'm not that daft). To comply with SD though we will have to mix and prep in the classroom and an adult to take them in to the staffroom where the cooker is. (Normally we plan for small groups to work in the staffroom). I'm looking to use plain flour and oats up.
So if anyone can point me in the direction of a Twinks recipe I would appreciate it.

Thank you Honey Bear7 -
Here you are, Valli:
Twinks Hobnob Recipe
Ingredients
4oz / 125g self-raising flour
4oz / 125g sugar (caster or granulated)
4oz / 125g porridge oats
4oz / 125g margarine (any type)
1 dessertspoon golden syrup
1 dessertspoon hot water
½ level teaspoon bicarbonate of sodaInstructions
Mix the flour, oats and sugar in a bowl.
Melt the marg, syrup and water in a large saucepan. Stir in bicarbonate of soda and quickly add the dry ingredients.
Mix well and make into smallish balls* which you then put on a greased tray (or use non-stick baking parchment**) and flatten slightly with a fork. Put in the oven at 180 degrees C for 15 min and leave to cool on the tray. The aim is to bake them until just golden, not brown, so that after cooling they are still slightly chewy. As they melt, the biscuits run into each other, so remember to run a blunt knife along the join lines before they harden completely, then break apart when cold. Makes about 16 biscuits.
* I use a rounded plastic tablespoon measure – mine came with ground coffee years ago – and just dollop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the baking sheet. If you do it in neat alternating rows, you will get hexagon-shaped biscuits with a useful link to Maths or bees!
** Non-stick baking parchment can be washed and re-used several times - very MSE
I have done the dailies and hoovered through downstairs. Just about to start WMx1 of 2. Tired already (didn't sleep well) but the sunshine is worth staying awake for9 -
Hello. Hope you're all ok today.
Work is now done until Sunday, DH has been to docs and I've had a lovely walk in the sunshine with the dogs and saw and chatted to not one but two friends, one of whom has imparted good news which has really lifted my mood.
Going to have a pottering afternoon. I've washing to put on airer and the bed isn't made yet so that will be a start. And it's family zoom quiz tonight.Spend less now, work less later.9
