Parking side of this business does not look that healthy. They may have fingers in other pies. There does not seem to be a very effective conversion of claims (large debtor book).  Probably won't survive the impact of the pandemic.

Many of these firms won't survive PAS232 or the Single Appeals Service.

Nor will they be able to immobilise vehicles, despite this simple intelligent parking man posting to tell us all about his company's plans to do that.  Thanks for the heads up on that, is all I can say.  Isn't it nice when you are able to get all the loopholes covered.

Is the "simple" reference a clue per the old nursery rhyme? :)

Edit: the penny has now dropped. :)

I have my own version of their acronym , it's not flattering either

I learned not to go into their car parks years ago when they featured on some t v programme

They are a scourge around Manchester , their signs are cr*p and they use people in high vus jackets trying to cram people into awful parking lots near Manchester arena , plus there are people selling dodgy tickets from broken machines near Piccadilly , where another sc#m is PDT machines near council ones so people use the wrong machine , again with awful signs

It may be simple , but it's certainly not intelligent , it's S for sc#m and I for Inept and P for predatory

It's listed as a dormant company and most directors resigned last june

Well we think he's Simple, he'd say he's Intelligent, and we all know he 'works' in Parking and signs their claim forms.  Wasn't hard to work out.  We even know who signs those claims.  An IPC firm using a certain acronym; they use Gladstones and we beat them in court.

So, why has this company representative not followed forum rules and signed up as his company, officially?
    a) Nope, we don't use Gladstones.
    b) I hadn't heard of SIP until now.
    c) I am not representing my company here.

There are only a handful who sign their own court claims.  Could be SIP because parking firms lie through their teeth.

Could be Civil Enforcement or VCS and a couple of small players.

I am still grateful for the heads up about immobilisation.  Consider that loophole as good as closed.  You know why.

    Are parking companies ESSENTIAL ?

The Police have now hotted up with FINES

Private parking companies are NOT ESSENTIAL .... Parking goons are still seen in car parks.
If the public see one of these goons walking around for their next fix, CALL THE POLICE, the goon should be following the rules and stay at home. Nobody knows if the goon has covid, with a windscreen ticket the virus can live on and passed on to whoever takes the ticket off the screen

Mr Clark of the BPA should look at the government list to see what ESSENTIAL means.
    Parking companies are NOT listed
The BPA should warn it's members that parking goons could receive a £200 fine

Much as it would give me great satisfaction to see a parking goon dragged kicking and screaming from his/her car pakr and issued a fine by the police, its not going to happen.

At the moment there is no definition or restriction on what an essential job is - only Work from home if you can, and only you should only travel to work if you can not work from home.
Parking Goon can not menace the car park from home

    From the Plain Language Commission:

"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"

I will rephrase that ..... Parking Companies and their staff are NOT classed as an essential and just like pubs and many other outlets must close.  The car parks they manage are owned by others so the parking companies cannot just close them but ..... as they are not classed as essential , the on foot parking wardens must stay at home.

If they are allowed it would be no different to a barman in a pub serving drinks
