Private PCNs issued to people getting COVID19 vaccinations - policy responses from the Trade Bodies

I'm with Beamer on this. The BPA are doing a fudge job by saying they will look into it after someone gets a scamvoice, whereas the decent approach would be to instruct their members not to issue charges at all at these sites.
People are still going to be frightened into paying if they get a charge. People won't want to get their second jab if they have been stung for a £100 the first time plus threats of court.

The scammers should be made to erect massive signs at the entrance and at the side of every payment machines with the wording THIS CAR PARK IS PAYMENT FREE FOR COVID VACCINE RECIPIENTS
PLEASE KEEP YOUR APPOINTMENT LETTER SAFE FOR PROOF OF ATTENDANCE IN CASE OF FUTURE CLAIMS

Once again the BPA are living in the clouds ........ the tails will still wag the dog4 -
Well done CM.
I have sent a copy of the communication from the BPA to a relative that is involved with the vaccine roll out on a county level.
On the TV yesterday there were long queues of people waiting for vaccines and some of them looked very frail.
There are also people who queue up for left over vaccine. This would be the Pfizer not the Oxford. I guess that they will have a long wait. Some people don't agree with it but it would be sacrilege to waste it and the logistics of moving the Pfizer vaccine around are difficult.

Lets not forget that, generally, the PPC does not make the rules; they simply enforce those requested by the landowner.
As such, if the landowner wants to charge people to park whilst attending an appointment; it is not for the operator to refuse to provide the service for which they have been contracted.
Furthermore, it is not the place of an APA to instruct its members to go against the wishes of their clients.
In other words, its the landowners that need to be lobbied; not the PPCs/APAs0 -
Some people don't agree with it but it would be sacrilege to waste it and the logistics of moving the Pfizer vaccine around are difficult. While I understand not wasting any 'left overs', I do ponder how those who receive the Pfizer remnant jab will be able to be fitted in to a 12-week follow up jab, and whether the Pfizer version will be readily available to them locally. Could see lots of people having to travel long distances to access the complementary jab ..... and then moaning on Facebook about it all (still, it will be a change from lost cats, dog sh*t and fireworks!) 😁Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I did wonder that myself. I suppose though they are getting some protection which is better than nothing especially if you are a key worker interfacing with the public.Umkomaas said:Some people don't agree with it but it would be sacrilege to waste it and the logistics of moving the Pfizer vaccine around are difficult. While I understand not wasting any 'left overs', I do ponder how those who receive the Pfizer remnant jab will be able to be fitted in to a 12-week follow up jab, and whether the Pfizer version will be readily available to them locally. If the PPC's have the power to dish out the PCN's they have the power to cancel them.AnotherForumite said:Lets not forget that, generally, the PPC does not make the rules; they simply enforce those requested by the landowner.

I don't know why you continually defend this grubby business.

The landowner simply contracts the PPC TO MANAGE a car park ...... the PPC never do, they just FARM a car park. ANPR can never manage a car parkSnakes_Belly said:

We must expect PPC's to join in the forum especially as there is not much for them to do right now or the next few months5 -
You make too many assumptions my friend.Redx said:When the contracts were signed , there was no pandemic
When Arcadia and the intu Trafford centre etc signed contracts with tenants there was no pandemic
Things have changed , firms are going bust , landowners are not getting rent from the contracts they signed , yet forumite expects to benefit by £100 per jab on sites where landowners and managing agents have signed contracts as testing centres , nightingale centres , lighthouse centres , vaccination centres etc
The words selfish P#llock comes to mind , Walter Mitty land !!
We operate on a site that fits in your list of examples, the landowner asked us to suspend our service; so we have. Conversely, no doubt there will be landowners that don't want to suspend the service; as is their prerogative.0
