  • For us, they ordered the valuation right at the start of the process and it was only 2 weeks later when the broker called me to say it had come back ok that he told me they were harping on about a business bank account.

As far as I know, the broker uploaded all documentation when he did the application though, as I know he requested all the evidence from us prior to submitting

Right ok… hopefully it’s not a bad sign that they haven’t yet then? I’ve had the estate agents chasing me too so know it hasn’t been done and I just haven’t been told.

I just don't think their processes are set up for dealing with SE effectively. Twice they requested via our brokers that I send trading accounts signed off by an accountant, after I had already sent SA100's, personal and business bank accounts (twice).  I am a sole trader and not required to have an accountant to sign off accounts, nor have trading accounts which is a requirement for ltd co's not sole traders / SE.

I have a feeling that come the 15 working day waiting time, they will request the same information again and more current bank statements too.

With regards to our valuation, that was done in week 1 of our application (desktop), but had to chase to find out what the outcome was, our broker didn't even know it happened.
  • Hi all,
We submitted all documents on 17th June. They then asked for another document on 20th June which was submitted straight away.
Valuation was booked for 24th June, same day came back and told us the valuation added up correctly.
Initially me and my broker where told by NatWest 5-7 days, then 9-10 days and now it is up to 15 business days. We are chasing almost every day as you’ll know that nothing seems to get done unless phone calls are made unfortunately. Hoping to hear back from them with the offer at the end of next week!

Same with us, requested another document the 20th, even though initial documents were sent the 14th. And timescales have increased from 12 to 15 days, which they are counting from the 20th again. So frustrating. Chased again today and was told I won't hear until after the 11th

I have spoke with them this morning, I have been ‘assured’ I will hear back by 7 working days at the latest. Looks like it’s the waiting game.

Ours took a few days for the valuation and then got the offer in 10 days.

So after being asked for business accounts that we don’t need. I’ve been told by brokers that they reviewed initial documents ( all still showing as waiting for review on tracker) but they will have to check it all against personal accounts now to ensure it adds up to business transactions etc, but now I am back to the queue for 15 days again! …,surely not !!!

It really is a joke, it says 15 days for the underwriting, and 4 days to check additional documents, so surely it should only be 4 days and not 15 again?

I called Natwest today and they confirmed that after making us wait 2 weeks to send off the request docs because they had to send everything all at once, our broker had 'forgotten' to send one my bank account statements until two days after, which mean we will hear the 11th rather than on the 7th. So we are made to wait longer because of broker incompetence. I will definitely discourage anyone from using L&C, their service is honestly the pits.
