    Hi Maria!

For Harry Potter could you get him to wear his uniform and then maybe try to fashion a cloak of some kind. You could pick up a cheap broom and some face paint to do the scar (and maybe draw some glasses on if he doesn't wear glasses anyway or maybe you can buy pretend glasses?) I'm sure you can buy a wand cheap in the fancy dress stuff but if all else fail get a thick stick from a tree (just file it down so its not sharp) Maybe make an old looking book for spells and a feather for a quill?

Yes I'm stalking you Maria!!

Do you wear much make up? A lip pencil would create the perfect scar! You could make a pair of glasses from card, cut a shape out like those card 3D viewers you can get and then paint it brown or something. A stick could make a good wand. Does he have a dressing gown that could work as a cloak worn over his uniform?

siren - I think one of the web sites had a picture by picture section on doing the reindeer but can't remember which on it was and I've googled and come up with nothing - maybe I was wrong and it was someone on here

A vampire costume would be just as easy - black trousers, black or white shirt, cape (which harry potter would have anyway), gel his hair back. You can get fake teeth and fake blood from any cheapy shop or use a bit of red lipstick to look like dripping blood from his mouth. Some foundation or similar to make him look pale would be good to.

Maria does this help http://www.makingfriends.com/glasses_harry_potter.htm you can print the pattern too. I also know that a black binbag works as a brilliant cheap cape also a great dress for a witch too but I don't know how old your son is and would hate to advocate anything which may be a fire hazard and cause injury.
Do you have any white sheeting? you could cut a scarf length and use fabric pens or paint and do a red and yellow stripe effect for a scarf.

paddingtondoo, great socks, will make perfect presents:T :T
