    Glad you enjoyed your holiday.

Great news on the tax refund.

    Thanks @savingholmes!
So my children's song this morning 'mummy with her big fat bum and her belly on top'..out of the mouths of babes!!
To be fair they have a point. Weight gain this year has been awful and haven't really got a grip of it yet. Going to try slim fast for a week to try and kick start the weight loss and then go to weight watchers. Need to lose approx 1 1/2 stone...

I wish that was all I had to lose. I've lost a stone and multiples left to go.

Lose weight for you - not someone else. Find your reasons. I also am a fan of slower sustainable weight loss - you couldn't get me near slim fast...

Thanks @savingholmes tbh I agree about slim fast, but I find it is good for shrinking my appetite for a week. After that slow and steady it will be!

Thanks @Aimingforthegoodlife sometimes it feels like a mountain we will never climb but I keep reminding myself we are making a difference!

Speaking of making a difference.. today I claimed back the tax on my union fees after reading about someone doing just that on here. Not sure how much it will be but my tax code will be adjusted by £211. Small things add up!!

Letter from tax office received and code updated with £211 allowance for professional subscription.
OH has done his tax return and is thinking of doing a big OP, as savings continue to be rubbish.
We will be remortgaging in May next year, so clearing as much as possible is a good idea. Hoping we can fix before then, given the interest rate rises.
Spinning class this morning and the hygienist the afternoon, then packing for the IOW on Friday!

Will do monthly update once OP made.
Also used my clubcard to get English heritage membership. Means we can visit Osborne house and Carisbrook castle for free once we are there.

Rather concerning that rates might be going up again....ugh! Our fix comes to an end in May next year. Does anyone know when we should start looking for a new rate?
Our current rate is very good 1.74%, will not enjoy paying even more interest! More reason to pay off as much as possible before then.
Picked up car from service yesterday, £271.. then engine warning came on once I had left!! So back to garage again today...!!
Also have to pack for IOW, currently zero suitcases packed!

Some places allow you to lock in a new mortgage offer up to 6 months before.
