Yup I was very pleased! So approx £155 spent on Christmas food, which is not bad I don't think. There were 8 of us, over three days.
Now time to stop the eating!!!! Need to lose a stone, which I am determined to do. Spent all of 2021 dithering and not doing!2 -

Happy New Year one and all!
Christmas tree is down, lights and decorations all the attic. It makes me feel quite calm.
I've decided my word for the year is house.
I don't love my house. It's in a very good location for us. It's lovely and quiet and the space downstairs is great. But I don't love it. I've decided that if we invest more in making the house a home, and less on holidays and eating out, I will love it more. So that is a key goals for this year.3 -
So before goals a 2021 update!!
Starting balance
£329,999
Ending balance
£289,999
Total reduction - £40,000

Wow - just wow - that's phenomenal. It sounds like your word needs to be 'home' rather than house...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks @AgathaSquirrel and @SouthCoast
When we bought this, our plan was to be here for 5-10 years. We've been here 6 and a half now and the reality is that my dream house would cost another £750k and it just isn't worth it, even if it were affordable! So new plan is to try and pay this mortgage off as fast as we can and then maybe buy a holiday home or buy to let. Consequently, I want to make changes so I can love or at least really like our home!
Off to buy back to school kit today and ...ultimate excitement look for some new laundry baskets!
Will update later with 2022 goals!2
