Just received a new Three Data Reward Sim, to get the 200MB free monthly data. It came in the data reward packaging but when I go to the registration page I get a message saying this Sim isn’t eligible. Has anyone come across this ?

Which registration page are you using?

Are you doing it from the phone on data?

There a few threads on getting these sums registered.

    Try this recent vid.

Thanks so much @getmore4less for the video link.
There was far too much wrong with this process. Maybe because the SIM was designed for tablets, not phones?
Anyway, a very poor setup from Three.
I have got it to work. Here are some comments for others.
    (1) I'd read that you could do this for free so my SIM did not have any credit on it. Only when I managed to add £2 credit was I able to access the registration pages.
    (2) Interesting that the iPhone App Store has two Three apps. I was redirected to use the "older" (?) Three app for this Data Rewards SIM -- the app with the plain white "3" logo - not the new one with the purple background. However for my normal Three PAYG SIM, it uses the newer purple background app. Nothing confusing about that then...
    (3) Switching from 4G to 3G as suggested in the comments to the video seemed to have NO effect on things for me.
    (4) I can now see the 200MB added to my account under "Unknown". Again, very reassuring.
All in all, a very poor user experience from Three again. I don't know about you but I find their registration & password creation process extremely frustrating. It loops with the newly created password not being recognised, and you have to start all over again, but that is another gripe I have with Three - not relevant to this post/issue.
Thanks again for the help here. Much appreciated!

Registration is simple. Just open the link
    https://www.three.co.uk/Support/SIM_activation
from a browser. Once registered you get the 200MB free data every month.
You don't have to install any Three app on the phone, it just works.

Yes, I ordered a few and one of them came up as ineligible. You're allowed to order up to 5 on one email address so just send for another one.

  • glennevis: the Data Reward SIM is data only, so there's no mobile number.

Better tell three to stop people calling me on my data sim that I also  use to make outgoing calls and text.

it works(or did) just like a 123 sim, (not clear if the charges have changed yet) but has different bungles

you will find the relevant information in the price guide

plans for mobile BB (page 5 to 7 cover the data reward)

I'd better tell people to stop ringing me on mine then.

Of course there is. Apart from the replies above, it's written on the SIM card

Afaik you have to have a number to register the sim, they also want the serial number on the sim has well.
