Only managed 0.91p so far but considering we're only 4 days into Feb, we're locked down and I'm not spending any money it's ok 😂

Every penny counts, Naomim ! I'm not spending any money in 'real' shops and businesses because, like you, I'm not going out. Not even to shop for groceries or anything else for that matter. If I can't buy it online and get it delivered I don't buy it! Do you round up/down things such as your regular direct debits for utilities. subscriptions etc if they are paid weekly/monthly? I count every single transaction that goes through my current account.Naomim said:Only managed 0.91p so far but considering we're only 4 days into Feb, we're locked down and I'm not spending any money it's ok 😂
Good luck.

No I'm only doing my Monzo account which is separate to my joint account with MrM and where all the DD's come out of. We're in the overdraft on the joint account so want to leave every penny in there I can! lol. My Monzo account is where I have my personal spends and all the pots for our future budgeting, groceries, dog food, car ins & maintenance etc so I'm just making sure I round them all down to zero at the end of every day if I've spent anything.Fidelia said:

IrishSean, We haven't heard anything from you since 31st January so I hope you and your family are safe and well.
I've a few little tidies to tot up and post but if the thread isn't a goer I'll just keep updating my signature and not post on here any more. You've already given me the motivation I need to save all those little amounts that can easily be overlooked. Thank you.
Stay safe and warm everyone. Happy tidying.

Been to get eggs for pancake day today, had a coupon for petrol at Sainsbury's so did that and treated the family to a McDonald's breakfast.
I've rounded down the accounts so got £4.67 in my rounding pot so far this month. 😁1 -
A very poor month for me so far. Only £5.36 in the pot. I guess it means I've been spending less though!1

I do tidying on my accounts each time I log onto them. I do have 3. 2 are my personal accounts and the 3rd is mine but we use it for paying the bills where my DH contributes to. I like to have these accounts as I like to make money from moving banks. I have no loyalty. I have done this for many years and it has certainly help reduce the debts at the time and helped with savings. I have also done this for my adult son and he is now on top with his finances. I found this method very gratifying when applying this to clearing debt, it certainly made a massive difference to my attitude in clearing the debt. As any small amount can be paid off credit cards.
You are all doing great

Every little helps, as Tesco's ad was forever telling us.Naomim said:A very poor month for me so far. Only £5.36 in the pot. I guess it means I've been spending less though!
I find my way of shopping has changed since I've been doing this challenge. Not in more/less but in spreading it out over separate transactions so my online account shows lots of small amounts to save. I'm only rounding up/down to the nearest £5 so lots of smaller transactions can leave up to a maximum of £4.99 EACH to tidy (not that it's ever that much though!) whereas one big transaction will only leave one maximum of £4.99 to save. Works out I'm saving more this way without really spending more or less. Works for me anyway.
Good luck for March.
