A good day's food bubbs. Was that LO chicken or another one? 🤔

I've been a bit short of LOs for lunches this week. Plenty for tomorrow though. I love having bubble and squeak when we have mash. 😋

End of a very long day finally!  Got home a few minutes ago and just sitting down with the cuppa before falling into bed!

Need to sort out the van tomorrow as we're planning on going down to the New Forest for the weekend as our ferry has been changed to 5pm from Lymington rather than 1pm from Portsmouth!  The place we're planning on going to is just round the corner from the ferry terminal and very cheap at about £12 a night!

Lots of extra syns as ended up sharing a bottle of wine with my friend before coming home - good job DH was driving.  He's having a nightcap of a measure of port.

Glad it's all done denise. I don't blame you for having wine syns. I expect you and your friend needed it after a long day.

It's a nice crossing from Lymington. We particularly like Yarmouth. Great that you could get a site so close (and cheap) at short notice. 😊

    Morning all,

I had a nice walk in the sun with pooch last night, the way we went the cool air was blowing down the road on the hills on the way back so kept us both cool it was lovely. Got up this morning and did a bit of weeding before work and a quick lap round the park. Going to do the same walk again tonight and may add a detour.

The PON cheesy broccoli chicken was nice but I don’t fancy it again tonight, it was quick and easy but quite plain. So a the moment dinner is up in the air which I don’t like, its dangerous for me! But it will involve chicken.

B – fruit and fibre ss milk

L – tuna pasta salad – with 40g pasta instead of 50g and see how that goes. Tuna mayo chives spring onion celery sweetcorn

    D – chicken based!

Morning all!  Sounds like a nice walk klew, and pasta can definitely be tricky to judge!

DH decided to treat us to a Chinese last night which is the first takeaway we've had in about 3 months.  Went for king prawns in oyster sauce with boiled rice and some steamed dumplings to share while DH had some spicy duck thing with egg fried rice.  Managed half my portion so chucked the rest in the freezer for a meal next week.  Enjoyed every bit of it as they are very generous with their protein and I had lots of mushrooms with my prawns 😋.

Back to it this morning with some ff yogurt, blueberries and granola.  Lunch is another ham salad (I prep them every couple of days so I can grab and go) and then dinner tonight is haddock fillet with mixed green veg and some minty mushy peas on the side too.

Right, back to work, hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all, lovely day today with lots of sunshine and no rain forecast so have put a load of jumpers on the line to dry.

I quite like the Lymington ferry maman but it's just the fact that it is a much later ferry and then we have to drive across the Island to the campsite we're going to so it's on so much extra time to the journey, although doing the journey tomorrow and not having to guess how long it would take on Monday is much better as we know we can get the terminal from the campsite in about 15 minutes or so - that's assuming we can get on there - I need to phone this morning to check but think it should be OK as it's a temporary holiday site which is huge.  We go to this one quite regularly.

Yesterday ended up not on plan!  Had fish and chips for dinner.  I was very good though and didn't eat the batter and only had a handful of chips but obviously still over syns for the day with the wine!

Today's plan will incorporate yesterday's food which we didn't have!

    B - tinned fruit & quark - P; 5.5
    L - burgers and onions in wm roll - HEB; P; S; 0.5
    D - Spanish rice - P; S; F; 2.5

    HEA - milk
    HEB - wm roll
Syns - tinned pears 5.5; low fat burger 0.5; chorizo 2.5

    Have a good day everyone.

You're putting me to shame, walking and weeding before work klew. Well done. 😊

I've no idea how to work out syns for take away food ruby. There are some listed on the website but it's far from comprehensive and not sure how accurate.  The majority of Chinese and Indian restaurants seem to be privately owned so would have their own recipes. I think it's best to just enjoy and move on!

There have been problems with the IoW ferry from the city centre for the past few weeks denise. Not sure exactly what but it's caused traffic mayhem as the queue of waiting cars spills out onto the road. I'm surprised you got switched though as I thought the ferries were run by different companies. 🤔

It'll be interesting to know if the app/website starts playing me up again this week. It's showing today as my next WI day on the app. I'm sure that's not happened before, usually I don't get any notification until 8 weeks are nearly up. 🤔

Easy menu for me today, all LOs and freezer meals! 😁

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash, banana, skinny syrup (F), HEB porridge, HEA1 milk, strawberries (S)
    L- cold meat (P), bubble & squeak (F,S), pickles (S)
    D- SW Bolognese (P,S), pasta (F), HEA2 Parmesan
    Syns- 0

maman apparently the ferry we were supposed to be on from Portsmouth has engine trouble so is having to be repaired.  They are hoping to get it back into service the week we are due back from the Island - typically!  Our return is still currently from Fishguarde to Portsmouth but will have to see whether that gets changed too!

The ferry from Southampton is run by Red Funnel but the Lymington to Yarmouth is Wighlink the same as the Portsmouth- Fishguard one.

Have nearly finished packing the van - all that needs to go in now is the food but I need to wait a bit longer to make sure the fridge/freezer is cold enough as didn't put it until until this morning.  Having said that I still haven't heard back from the site whether they have a vacancy!  If I don't hear by about 4 o'clock I'll try the number again.  If we can't get on then we'll have to try some other places.  Might even do a pub stopover just for the Sunday night as there is bound to be a pub fairly close where we would be able to stay.

Hope the website/app don't cause you any problems.  It's the only reason I carry on going to WIs!  I think I've proved to myself I don't actually need group to keep on top of my weight!

Sorry denise, I just assumed Southampton. 🤣Hope you get fixed with a site. I want to go to the IoW as I've promised myself a child free visit to Osborne House. I've been several times before but always with children and having to educate them. I'm waiting until it's fully open and then we'll probably go on the Red Jet.

I think that's one thing lockdown has shown is that we can maintain without a group. 😇
