Welcome to the moving madness nimbo! My son has to self-isolate so the buyers surveyor can't come round, but otherwise it's all systems go here. Before little one had to self-isolate, we managed a lovely relaxing weekend away at my parents house, and my mum fixed the mistake on my knitting (been sat a while!) so I've done a bit more on that. I've got a year to finish it- think I will need it!
Has the surveyor got in yet?

They’re booked so far I’m advance.

One more off the list - OH wanted me to make a chandelier for the 3D printed Elven Library he has painted up - everything from the wire to the thread was from stash, and have nearly used up the little bag of clear beads I had lying around (  also discovered how many beads I actually  have in stock, though, including some from a trip to Greece 8 years ago)

  • Hi everyone,

Just spent a good ten minutes catching up on all the amazing stuff everyone has been up to! Well done!!

We are still in our current home surrounded by boxes and feeling quite stressed so not much new to report! Our business contains a small Post Office counter but with how many business and house sales have gone through recently PO are struggling to find staff to do the audit at handover which means no date still. It's been about four months since selling now and I really want it over!

Oh dear, cupcakeccc. I know how you feel when you just want to go when you have sold. It will be worth it in the end. What an exciting new chapter for you.

Wraithlady any chance of a pic of the library?

Green Tiger, I have finally found the banana box which has been my sewing box for about 10 years. Not gone mad and opened it yet! I hope you are not in a rush for the selvedge edges. I won't have masses but will have some.

I went to Aberkhan in North Wales recently and bought fabric to make another hand stitch quilt. Now last time I made one I did ask this thread to hurt me if I started to talk about making another quilt! I caught you all off guard .Haha It's like having a baby, you forget the pain of producing!

Aberkhan is well worth a visit. They sell all crafting supplies, lovely reasonable café too. Think they also do online.

The lady has been and collected a large bag of baby makes for Africa. She brought me a little more wool and was talking about a cut off point for the makes. Shame, I don't imagine there will be a cut off point for the need at the maternity hospital, but it will mean I can do other crafts without feeling driven to produce stuff for them.

     One more baby hat.

     Total 75

Thanks vulpix, I'm not in any rush; I've a list of projects as long as my arm and I'm in a bit of a lazy spell right now.   Does that happen to anyone else?

I'm surprised too, that there is a cut-off point for the hats.   If you want to go on with hats, usually local hospitals are crying out for preemie hats.   I know that John Lewis in Glasgow used to collect all sorts of preemie knits, even provided free patterns for them.   I've not been in the city for years (and not just because of the pandemic), so I'm not sure if that's still going on.

Cupcake, I hate that time when a decision's been made and so you're done with one thing and ready to move on to the next; it makes me just not want to do anything at all until I can get started on the new thing.   I become totally lethargic, disinterested and aimless!   I really do hope you get sorted out soon.

I am emerging from lazy spell- I say lazy, but I have been busy with everything else!
This morning I stamped the front of a card and it looks beautiful, I'm so impressed!!! It's been so long and I expected to need to redo it. I have two wedding cards to do, and a birthday card for my son. Once the ink has properly dried, I will pop the stamped bit on the rest of the card and then I'm one wedding card down. I did also stamp a sentiment into a half finished Christmas card, so that is one completed make done for today.

I'm trying to get back into crafting so thought rather then lurking I'd actually post!

I have so much stuff (card making and papercrafting) that it's a bit overwhelming with where to start especially as I have a whole heap of started but not finished projects (UFO's). But if I don't use it, why am I keeping it?

So today, I made a birthday card for my dad and have been playing around with ultra thick embossing powders. I am going to try and make all my family birthday cards for the next year and try and finish off some of my UFO's before buying anything else new.
