Hi hope you’ve all had a good weekend and have survived storm Arwen. Both cards finished now and mounted on cards. I had the cards and pimped them up a little with beads and sequins from my stash - it is Christmas after all! January 22 may need to see some serious stash busting. I also saw the Black Friday offers on HSC Coxy but I have enough to be going on with one of which is stitched on black. That needs to be a summer evening project. Nmm boat sounds so cosy, cosier than our house. A word burner is big draw. When I moved here in 2005 I really missed the open fire in my Victorian end of terrace. My BF lived behind me then (and still there) so I get to enjoy hers.Hope it’s a better week for OH and the side effects are manageable.Film sounds good, thanks for recommendation. Full on Christmas movies here. TC I may pick up PL Dublin again now.‘One of our greatest freedoms is how we react to things’ said Mole.Cross stitch cafe TaDa Enjoy the Little Things, WIP Love cats, ‘A Year in the Life of’ HSC July-December and The Seasons graphic sampler. Hi everyone,
Hope all are safe and warm. Storm Arwen has affected lots of folk with power outages and damage to property. We are lucky here to have had cold and biting wind but nothing more serious. Bit of a frosty start today but only had to 'commute' to home office in the dining room
In crafting news I have realised that card number 2 has a mistake which I'm not sure I can rectify by frogging, so may need to start over grrr. I have plenty of fabric but it's just so annoying. Went to Hobbycraft for card blanks at the weekend so I'm stocked up again. Jealous you have finished yours Charly!
Went to Brighton Christmas market yesterday with DSis and BIL. Parked at DDs student house, quick tour and then on the bus to town. The event was mainly food and drink takeaway stalls - had the best mulled wine ever mmm. Nothing to buy as only 1 or 2 sellers, so a bit disappointing. We had a wander through the Lanes and I had my fix of sparkly diamond jewellery - one ring I liked was £10k! DH said you can have it but never wear it lol!
I'm food shopping tonight as didn't get a chance at the weekend, but then will take another look at card 2 and see what I can salvage.
Have a great day all,

Card exchange update - I've managed to frog the mistake, so back on track.
DH tested positive for Covid last night - he'd been to a meeting in York last Tuesday and by lunchtime yesterday, 6 of the 8 attendees had tested positive. He'd been testing every other day and last night's had two lines. He is now isolating in DDs bedroom and WFH there - I had to lug his office equipment up the stairs to him this morning and have been his food and drink slave today! He's currently feeling okay.
Both DS2 and myself are currently negative but it's only a matter of time I expect.....
As I will be on my own downstairs I will crack on with card 2 tonight
Hope all are well,

Commiserations on DH testing positive Coxy. Let’s hope you all stay well and have the mildest of doses. Grr so frustrating regarding the frogging but always better than a restart! Hi all,
More stitching on card 2 last night. Was pinged by T&T yesterday, so went for a PCR first thing today. Hope to get results tomorrow. DH still okay and no bad symptoms, just boredom - wine and crisps requested during IACGMOOH last night! I need to stay home until the results come through, so will hopefully finish card 2 tonight and then start on the mounting.
DDad's open heart surgery booked for next Tuesday which also happens to be late nephews birthday. I'm hoping it's a good sign and A will look after him
nmm - hope all okay with you and DH?
Have a good evening all,

Hi Coxy, good to see sense of taste and smell not affected if wine and crisps requested. Cards in the post today. Will keep EVERYTHING crossed for DD during surgery next week.

Morning,
The results are in (drum roll please....) and I'm negative yay! Not so yay for DH who will have to continue to isolate until freedom day on Wednesday. Wouldn't you just believe it that we'd found a little car for DS2 a few weeks ago and it's ready to collect tomorrow. I will have to go alone, train, tram and a short walk as DH not allowed out. Will have to leave him a flask and other supplies as DS2 has a driving lesson tomorrow I believe?
Did some more of card 2 last night - just some BABs to go and then I can mount onto cards at the weekend. Think we said to post on Monday but can't remember now lol!
Hope nmm is okay as Cumbria hit bad with Storm Arwen in terms of power outages etc.
Have a good day all,
Coxy xx

We well done Coxy. Maybe you are naturally immune. Picking up the car sounds like a long day. Hope both DH and DS2 appreciate it.
I did come early with the posting for two reasons. Firstly to post second class (in good thrifty style) and also because it was my one opportunity to post this week! Coming into my busy time at work.Storm Arwen has been a beast up north and some people still without power.Have a good weekend and stay safe all xxx‘One of our greatest freedoms is how we react to things’ said Mole.Cross stitch cafe TaDa Enjoy the Little Things, WIP Love cats, ‘A Year in the Life of’ HSC July-December and The Seasons graphic sampler. Hi ladies, i'm alive lol, yes the winds were quite bad but we put off moving till it past. I'm still working on card no2, so i will get it completed over the weekend and posted out on Monday. My OH was pretty ill most of the week so it was a last minute 2 day move, everything we were keeping to the boat yesterday and the rubbish to the tip today. Slept on boat last night, woke up feeling a little sick and was dripped on by cold condensation water, lol. Anyhow now i can devote my time to sorting the boat out and using up all my stash

Hi all,
nmm - great to hear all okay with you. I hope OH is okay and feels brighter soon. Hopefully the move will give him something else to focus on xx
I finished card 2 last night and have cut out some bespoke (wonky) mounts for them. Hope to put them together tonight or tomorrow.
Not collecting the car today as it needs a couple of minor things from the MOT. We will go next Saturday instead which means DH and I can drive over there together and one of us drive the other car back - win win. It does now mean I have a 'free' day so I'm off to B!uewater (shopping mall) to break the back of the Christmas shopping. DS2 currently has pants! I have some vouchers from my birthday, so will also look for some new bits for me - I hate clothes shopping at the best of times but needs must.
I'm on a 10k charity walk tomorrow morning from 9am, so will need to organise food for DH for whilst I'm out. DS2 will be on breakfast AND lunch duty tomorrow.
Have a good day all,
