not saying them specifically, but if the UK banded together during the last WWII making munitions, rack some brains and logistics together and crack on, instead of the procrastination and umming and aweing at the grim stats on deaths every day for goodness sake.

All this red tape, over regulation/ incompetence e.t.c  is hampering the war efforts. While they sit there doing nothing, people are dying in the very hospitals they are born in
You're making things up again. As other @soulsaver has explained, enormous resources have been devoted to Covid vaccine production across the world.  🙂
Yet india are producing far more than  the tiny amounts we are churning out, is that making something up?

The oxford vaccine is needed to be imported overseas:

    https://www.ft.com/content/d97c72c5-ed23-4c2b-bf1c-9cc10b21f007

Resources? The government is doing no way near enough. In fact they are now cancelling the second dose of vaccines in order to vaccinate more with the first dose, meaning not enough supply which is concerning. The pfizer vaccine is not licensed for a 3 month gap for the second dose

Of course these are my opinions, but can you say the government is doing it's best? Remember the PPE fiasco? the wasted money on not fit for use PPE from Turkey for example? Do you need a link for that too?

I'll give it to you too as you need links don't you:

There's a lot that this government has failed on, certainly early on, and the lack of testing capacity is certainly a big issue when compared with countries like South Korea of Germany,
That's just two countries though. Both had good but different reasons for having an infrastructure in place.
They are two of the more similar ones in terms of size and development, there are many others that have done much better i controlling the virus including Japan, Australia and much of Europe. Far easier to list those that have definitely done worse, which is the US, chunks of South America, maybe Spain and Italy, possibly South Africa.

    ???

Not familiar with the term in this context and searching inevitably focuses on bathroom accessories, perhaps you could clarify?

Eskbanker, it is a new one to me, too, but apparently it can be an acronym for "thick as pig s**t".

Eskbanker, it is a new one to me, too, but I've now found that it can be an acronym for "thick as pig s**t".
Thanks, you obviously have superior searching skills and/or more perseverance - it did seem unlikely that it would be a complimentary term!

Have you ever taken a look at the difference in population size between UK and India? What's the per capita figure looking like?

Cry if they don't try and get PPE, cry if they do. Does doing their best mean trying absolutely everything during a global scramble for PPE? Sounds like Turkish trading standards should be looking into this. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52569364

I was actually a bit disappointed as I had expected it to be a much more imaginative example of rhyming slang! :)

I wouldn't put a lot of trust in turkish trade descriptions, even if I knew what that was supposed to mean (Turkish trades descriptions/ trading standards?). It's also a B2B transaction, so no consumer protection and in most of these circumstances in my experience one of the main problems is poor client specification.

Events of the 31st show how many TAPS  live on this island. Actually both countries and people are key in controlling the virus. Look at how very well New Zealand has done since the very start of this pandemic; a wonderful combination of strong decisive government in locking down hard and closing down all borders very early on together with the willingness of the vast majority of New Zealanders to be patient and obedient and to put up with short and medium term restrictions for the sake of the long term good (only 25 deaths up to now)!
