Good afternoon lovely Turtle friends. Friday! Nearly payday. Well, I am not in paid employment, but 'nearly money coming in day' does not sound the same. I am going to come in £1.34 under budget this month. With about £6.50 and a £5 voucher in my purse.I have cleaned and hoovered the entire house in readiness for the weekend - why is a weekend still exciting when it is no less work that a normal weekday? Made 3 x 400g loaves of soda bread, one plain, one walnut, and one fruit. Total cost less than £1.Today will be NSD 21. I am in limbo now until the money comes into my account, so I am taking stock of what I still need to buy for the house and luckily making lists is free! All my plans for today got cancelled when the Bl00d service cancelled my donation, so I have saved the parking fee, the trip to the health food shop, the doughnuts for the kids, the ys stuff in Whitt4ards, and it is has kept me in budget. yay!@ditty1234 - I totally understand your reticence to begin a task. I suffer with it myself, and then get really annoyed with myself when I do finally do X and it turns out to have been a 15 minute job and I had put off for 3 months. I am a great list writer though.Definitely take your boy to the station and put him on a train, but he needs to find out if his uni library will let him in, some are only open to vulnerable students or those without IT at home. He might need to contact his personal tutor to find out, or at least then his PT can get him on the list for those accessing on campus facilities. Our uni is open 10 - 5 M-F but only for those who do not have adequate home arrangements or accessibility issues, who have to be on campus (the medical students) and postgrads. There are some drop-in individual study spaces, but not in the group study rooms (the comfy ones you can spread out in), and some slots have to be booked 24hours in advance. So get him to find out if he will be able to study before he gets a ticket.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Evening all, thank you for the recovery wishes, am waddling around a bit feeling stiff but the pain isn't as bad as I expected. Took it easy and went for 2 walk around the block.
Made it to my goal of 20 NSD's, probably a good thing as I'm officially out of money! Have been paid but determined not to dip into it before the 1st. No weekend plans, will pop up to see the pony but strictly no riding!
Re the procrastination, I don't think it's laziness at all. I think it's a combination of sometimes not wanting to fail or get something wrong and also sometimes a job is just boring and we lack motivation!
Today I'm grateful for pain being ok!, for it being the weekend (even though every weekend is the same!), and a wee glass of red.8 -
Dear `turtles,
That's me on 19 NSDs
I have doen battlw with the Power company again today, I have been informed that over £500 for the gas overpay will be in my account in 10 days (I have been told this before on 2 occassions!), but they can't refund the £744 for the electric due to soem system error. I am fuming again, It is is just too much! Apparently, they will call me tomorrow. We will see!
Anyway, Grateful for
1. going to my bubble, I have been on my own for 2 weeks and I am going a little mad. But last time I went to London, I was tracked and traced - self isolation. `It is a risk, but my partner and I have halved the time we are together in this new lockdown, and we will be in it til March, at the earliest.
2. cheap train tickets
3. last day of being eslf-employed.

@DrCarrie - tell them if they do not refund you, you will take your business elsewhere and then they will have to refund you. Either way you want your money and it is unethical of them not to refund you such a ridiculously large amount.

Didn't feel great when I woke up so have just done my best and found all manner of novel ways of doing things. Sat on the shower stool, showered, washed my hair and scrubbed the base of the shower with the rubber bristle broom. Took a towel out and hung it on the line but felt wobbly and had to hold onto a tree with both hands to squash the cans before putting them into the recycling bin. made some progress on 3 tasks which could be done sitting down especially a new embroidery piece which uses up scraps (long narrow awkward shaped piece of tapestry canvas, makes up quickly (bargello or florentine embroidery) and will make a dent in my box of 'use up' threads. A little more tidying and stuff into bins (have been filling a bin bag in my room. When I went to put it out it felt a bit light so did a shuffle round the yard gathering bits of broken planter and a handle without a bucket to fill it up.
Grateful for enough light to sew, meals from fridge bits, books and puzzles. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage8 -
Friday- still on NSD 18 because I bought milk and typically no-one (ie DD) didn't drink any tonight so I could have delayed it until tomorrow 😂. I did however pay an online bill so not a total waste of a NSD. Tomorrow is the "big" food shop for next week, and January money will cover it, even though it's technically a February shop so that's a good sign.
I am also in the "put jobs off for far longer than they take to do" club. Maybe that should be next months challenge to myself- just to do things when I think about them, rather than delaying them.
Grateful today for a fun afternoon with my pony, a friend giving her time and experience to help me out, and a thoughtful gift from an unexpected source.

I had to go out and post a letter this morning, and it was raining. So my coat pocket gave me a £2 coin!I love it when your clothes give you presents. Today will be NSD 22 I think.I have told all the kids to try on their outdoor shoes and tell me if they still fit. I am sure they are all going to need an emergency clothes and shoes run before going back out into society and I might as well be prepared for that, instead of shocked and surprised at Easter.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I'm thinking I'll need an emergency shoes and school trousers run for when they are allowed back.
