NST: January 2021 – the Turtles do the Jitterbug

Morning all!
I don't know where the time goes - maybe I am living in a time warp where time passes super quick! I'm still off work - is this what retirement is like??? I am becoming an expert at faffing and not really achieving much in the productivity stakes!!! Anyway - very belated Happy Birthday Mothernerd!!! I hope you had a nice day in the end. Also thank you for everyone's kind comments.
I have been re-jigging my budget <again> and prioritising a few things. Have managed to bump my EF up to nearly £700 again, and once I hit £1K that will free up some monthly funds to start tackling down my debt. That said - am still chipping off £200 per month and all cards are interest free (...must check when those dates expire). I'm afraid I lost track of NSDs but I know I have had more of them than I have spend days, because I have hardly been out! 29th today - so I must have hit 15... I used to put a little star on my calendar before - I will adopt this in Feb again!
On that note - thanks Mothernerd for running next month. I did chuckle at your challenges (dancing with Henry Hoover!).
Have a great day all x⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Question for my fellow turtles
I got a good 0lio pick up last night with some croissants, a soda bread, 6 rolls, and mushrooms.
I’d like to make mushroom soup but haven’t done it before. I’ve found a recipe on the BBC website which calls for single cream. Any NST know if it would work well with whole milk as I don’t have cream?

NSD No 24 yesterday. I think that must be the most I've ever had.
I had a giggle at dancing with Henry Hoover and it's something I'm really going to have to put my mind too very, very soon.
Do you know, Ditty. I am a terrible procrastinator and I had never thought of laziness/procrastination as fear but that's an interesting thought. I wonder if it's a fear of not getting things right. I'm going to have a ponder about that. As for your other dilemma. I can't comment on the legality but it seems like common sense to me. Safer for you to drive him to the station rather than him go on public transport and you wouldn't be getting out of the car. I'm sure there must be others in some kind of similar position. Maybe someone else could advise you.
Well, I think we'll eventually have the haggis, neeps and tatties that we were going to have on Burns night tonight.

I usually have cream coconut in the house, so use that in soups.

Happy Friday turtles… I wish I had a henry hoover! mine is falling apart.
I feel better today after running at the gym. The difference in my energy levels between this January and last is clearly just the amount I am moving… and all day static staring at a screen… so will try to go for a walk / do some exercises at home on the days when I don’t go to the gym.
We had takeaway pizza yesterday oops. First one of January… but it was only €6 between the two of us.
Still on NSD 13 as bf paid for pizza. Have not spent any money so far this week. I am going to a socially distanced language exchange tonight (4 people limit) although if it looks like no one’s keeping their distance/wearing masks I will leave and come home, it's only round the corner from my flat.
Grateful for the gym being open, to whoever invented pizza...

"Earlier last week when I was procrastinating on the same marking I realise I could just hear students complaining and various colleagues telling me off, as I was trying to write the feedback! Today I am actually doing it though, hoping to complete by 3 pm fingers crossed. I don't actually hear voices, but I am not the most confident person in the world."
I can identify with that. I once had a head of department who said "It doesn't have to be perfect all the time. It just has to be good". My supervisor (a perfectionist who terrified the life out of me and everyone else) was horrified. So, on you go. You can do this and it will all be absolutely fine. Think how good it will feel once you've finished it, xxx
