I had another short mooch in a few local charity shops yesterday and this time bought -
1 x Mid-calf formal black coat (ANOTHER one - the one from the other day is more of a trench/mac whereas this is thicker. No label so unsure of material but almost like a wool coal)
1 x Animal print blouse
2 x Animal print t-shirts/tops (one of these is going back - it doesn't suit me at all)
1 x Short tunic type top
This time I spent around £20.00.
I've put on a load of weight over the past year and have lived in leggings/joggers throughout lockdown pretty much as nothing else I already have fits me anymore. I'll do something about that but in the meantime I'm so happy to be able to get myself some nice new (to me) items without breaking the bank.
I've got a big walk-in wardrobe and this weekend it's my mission to clear it out of EVERYTHING which doesn't fit. The charity shops can have it all.10 -
I took about 30 items to CS today (having checked first that they were accepting donations).
I came home with 3 L’Occitane 75 ml shower gels in a box for £3.50 and a big white rippled breakfast cup from Sainsbury’s Home for £1.8 -
Oh that man! The charity shops are open & he brings me Denby - homestead brown coffeepot & a Denby berry juice breakfast cup & saucer. I may have a coffeepot like that already but we both croon over the colour & shape. The breakfast cup is a very generous size - that full of coffee & I’d be twitchy 3 days later! So of course I’m happy & he’s quietly beaming & frankly no matter how much hand washing & masks & distance? Hi honey, we’re home!
The cup was 50pence since the shop had been closed so long the glue on the price labels had evaporated!8 -
Have had a bit of a family bombshell today (if it's true it is good news but I'm not sure I should believe it just yet) and am still trying to assimilate it plus today is my birthday so I'm feeling rather shaken up. I was planning a multi-chazza outing for today but postponed it until tomorrow or maybe Saturday and will be back once I've worked out which way is up this year."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

Ahhh I’ve had such a great day! And spent way too much. But I haven’t been shopping since December! I also donated two big bags of clothes I no longer wear this morning to allow me to ease the guilt of going bargain-hunting!
First up from Scope: A pair of soft grey leather and suede brogues with a slight heel. I thought these were the real thing (i.e. leather) as they were so beautiful and also a size 38 and a half, and I find you generally only get half-sizes for adults in really good brands. They are by LA Ross https://www.la-botte.com/marques/la-ross_us.shtml, made by Tuscan craftsmen since 1962, apparently. Expensive new! They are LOVELY to wear… so comfortable.
A Wolford t-shirt with gold lurex stripes for £8 from the RSPCA. Not cheap, but I love brands like Wolford and can’t afford them new.
A padded gilet from Malvin (which I think is a German brand). Pale blue, slim-fit, so not a bulky gilet. Much smarter than my usual dog-walking ones! £6 from the RSPCA.
A navy blue t-shirt from a brand called Grae Basics (looks like they might be Aus/NZ-based?) that was £3 from the Salvation Army. Simple and classic.
A pink and grey long-sleeved T-shirt by Whistles. I LOVE this colour combination – lightweight and perfect for spring. £6 from the RSPCA.
A jumper which I have convinced myself is Massimo Dutti, even though the labels have been cut off! WHO DOES THAT!! It is camel coloured on one side and cream on the other and looks like you could wear it either way round. Label says ‘Cotton cashmere – made in China’ which is not very promising, but there is just something about it… £6 from RSPCA.
I got a few more bits and pieces but this is enough to be going on with! I feel VERY fortunate. It was so nice to be able to have a proper rummage round everywhere after such a miserable few months. Happy hunting! M100

Had one of my mini-breaks last week, managed to find an affordable self-contained studio which is currently permitted, so had a good look round the local chazzers. Found a still boxed genuine George Foreman special edition blue electric grill with a top bun-warmer for £5. Only trouble is that I struggled so much (with the help of an assistant) to get it out of the box to check if it was okay that I must have somehow lost one of the little rubber feet, still I'm sure I can improvise something.
Also a Trespass down & feather packaway jacket, complete with nylon stuff-sack, grey with a lovely lime green lining, and an attached hood with a pulley so it doesn't just fall down, another fiver. I'm pretty sure it's a man's but it fits me perfectly, which was lucky as I couldn't try it on in the shop, just hold it against my chest. Similar currently retailing online for around £49 on special offer price.
Finally an old style Aladdin vacuum flask with sealing cap and cup, £2. Gave it a good clean up and filled with boiling water a few times and it was fine. I wasn't sure about it but figured it was cheaper than buying a hot drink on my train home, so I made a flask of tea before I set off! Similar ones selling on eBay as "vintage" for upwards of £20!
Oh and finally finally a dark red River Island polo shirt for OH off a £1 rail. Looks like new, and I was glad I put a colour catcher sheet in the wash as it came out pink, which can only have come from the polo.Used to be Bogof_Babe. It did need updating!9
