Sending big love and hugs to everyone xxxx
I have de Christmassed the place, my black bin is overflowing. My new phone isn't arriving until Saturday now, feels very strange without one. But also quite nice. Keep checking my emails to see what's happening with work next week. I'm going to charge the iPad so the kids can have an hour playing games whilst I nap!Fire lit, WM on which will dry in front of fire later. If I don't come back online later, THANK YOU FOR BEING MY FRIENDS THIS YEAR. I LOVE YOU ALL XXX11 -
Oh Fayolle that's really not fair, either the driving test or the job. I think DD could be heading the same way with his job if he refuses to go back to work full time. He could try and argue that they are not treating him fairly, but I know that he wont.
Up late, exercise done, eating home made soup and bread now. Going into town to Li@l to see if they have any steak for tea tonight as a treat. Have sorted out the fridge and thrown out a few bits and pieces that couldnt be saved.
Valli my Mum and Dad have had the vaccine, which I am glad about, but they are both 80 and never go anywhere. I cant help but feel that it would have been better given to NHS staff, teachers, or younger people who need to work but have underlying health conditions.

I've never had a vaccine in my life and not starting now. The OH, the children and everyone else can make their own decision. They aren't giving it to working age people because the average age of death recorded on national statistics is 82-83.. but really they may have died then anyway.. who knows?Dot is on the verge of a breakdown.. we've had her out for a run (yes, like a dog!)
TD on, 2x WM, 2 loads hung up to dry.
Sorted WoW addons and now I need to do dinner.. I am having clean bedding tonight.. the current bottom sheet is going in the bin so leass washing there! The duvet cover and cat grot on it. For housecats they get very dirty!

Condolences and hugs to Valli, Fayolle and pretty much everyone from the sound of it.
I'm going to say a very happy new year to all you lovely virtual friends. Mr N and I have decided to have a 3 course meal, dress for dinner (within the realms of our heating) and make this evening a bit special. Relatively. I'm not a lover of Auld Lang Syne and the big party stuff, so it will be a NY Andre Rieu concert to listen to then probably bed with laptop to watch Jean Michel Jarre and the light show at the Notre Dame. At least I think that's where it is, will have to check FB where it was advertised.
Latest on MIL, yesterday, was that they were treating her for both Covid and also they aspirated a piece of food or similar in her lungs, which has set up an infection. She responded quite well to oxygen yesterday, as in needing 15l/hr or whatever in the morning and only 5l/hr in the afternoon. We tried ringing the hospital for an update today, too busy and going to ring us back but that didn't happen. We presume no news at least means no bad news.
Very cold here today, bedroom broke its own record (9.7) but we had a nice......bracing......walk.
Other than that it has been the usual bit of tidying, report writing, admin, sending e-New Year cards off, speaking to my Mum and brother, filling bird feeders.
Right, off to put on the shiny. I just want another chance to wear my new (this year) Christmas jumper really.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.14 -
Very sad for your DD on both counts, Fayolle xx
(((Hugs))) to dancemum xx
Good to hear that your MIL is no worse and hopefully improving, Narc0 xx
Valli, I agree: frontline NHS should have been vaccinated first, and if school students are expected to go back, teachers should also be protected, or the schools may be shut again through lack of staff.
I'm not a great fan of New Year's Eve - calendars are arbitrary and it's just another day in my life, and Rosie hates fireworks - but we've gone through 9 terrible months and I can only hope that the next 9 are better for us all. Let's make flying fun in '21
However, DD has arranged a Z00m meeting for all the family tomorrow morning, complete with challenges involving paper, balloons, string, etc. I watched the Sewing Bee this evening for inspiration, but somehow I don't think we'll be making party dresses!11 -
Happy New Year to you all, hope you had a pleasant evening.
Usually there's been some sort of get together for it in our family, almost like a second Xmas, and games involved. So we're having a zoom quiz tonight.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear10 -
