Appreciate the hugs.
I'm up. Watching the schools arguments with great interest.
Plan to dismantle xmas tree etc as I'm sick of the cat playing with it.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning all
Late in for me, I had a mega lie in after a late night, have had brekkie and a shower and am trying to get myself motivated to move! I cleaned the shower while I was in there and have flung some cleaning stuff about so I guess cleaning the rest of the en suite should be first on my list!!DH has gone out to Mr Ts, we don’t need much so hopefully a cheap and quick shop today, I want to deChristmas the place and also prep for going back to work on Monday, I think I’m going to need a kick up the derrière this weekend!Hugs to all, time to get going xx7 -
Morning all. It was (just) thawing, and now it's snowing heavily again - and sticking. The roads and paths are very icy, so we will have to hide under the blankets for another day. i wasn't planning on going anywhere anyway, except for Rosie's walk.
Great resolutions, round
Brilliant work asb (referring to the other thread): you have achieved so much in 6 months, it's unbelievableI too have chicken envy... I wish I could be as disciplined as you about running the WM, but DH is a big man so his XXXL clothes take up more space in the WM, and he resents being told that he should wear a t-shirt for more than one day! In the end, to avoid arguments, it's easier to grit my teeth. It's all a matter of balancing needs and wishes and dealing with what needs to be done, depending on where one is in one's life, and since I have lived frugally for many years, saved hard, and still keep MSE in mind, I feel I can justify spending a little more now on making life easier for us both.
We had a family Z00m meeting yesterday afternoon. DD set us all challenges, and somehow all the teams ended up with equal scores, so family honour is intact. There were lots of laughs and lots of funI really hope it doesn't take us another 9 months for us all to get together like this again.
Yesterday I hoovered and dusted upstairs and hoovered the LR. We've still got all our decorations and lights up because I love them and it's still Christmas, but I've put away all my presents and DH's new books are in a neat pile. I will hoover all through downstairs, clean the ensuite thoroughly, and steam mop the kitchen floor as soon as DH deigns to get dressed and retreat to his man cave!
I cooked a big roast dinner yesterday evening and there are still 2 ready meals for each of us left over from that, as well as one of the pork paprikash (SW recipe) that I cooked on Wednesday. Lunch today will be a simple leek soup (mainly using the dark green leaves) enhanced with the last chunk of the Christmas ham [nom-nom]. I have not put on weight since July, but I haven't lost any either, so that will have to be my NYR - but I have half a mini-stollen to save from DH's clutches first!!! We have enough F&V left for a couple more days, so I'm hoping that the weather forecast is right and the temperatures will rise sufficiently to melt the ice before I have to negotiate our drive and the hill down onto the main road.
Hope everyone has a restful day. (((Hugs))) spoons and sticks to all in need xxx

Natty - sounds good to me xx Declutterers R Us
BadCat - I have my socked foot ready to give you a gentle boost on the butt if required xx
Round 2 completed + battered ice cream scoop binned (it didn't pass the bungalow test) (It's a start); laundry hamper taken back upstairs and bleach sploshed in the loo.
Emptied Christmas gifts bags will join the seriously depleted stash ready to be reused Christmas 2021. And I've not unpackaged the three packs of socks that I received for Christmas as my recently tidied sock drawer is full enough. So that's three presents for Christmas 2021 sorted then. Now that is MSE!!! I'll add a note to the note already made re Christmas TV guide.
Day1 Round 3
put second load on airer / radiator
lunch - I have a yearning for egg and chips.

Unusually no one got me a calendar for Xmas so I had to order one myself. It arrived this morning and I've just spent a pleasurable half hour writing birthdays etc. I love this new year ritual. Hopefully there will be more in it than last year but I do have two concerts to look forward to, fingers crossed.
Just having a early lunch before watching football.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Good afternoon!
My days just get lazier & lazier! DD1 has sent me a screen shot of a decluttering challenge she is doing. I have already failed on day 1!!
I have my gardening jeans on, so I am going to wrap up & head outside to tidy up a bit. The compost bin still needs emptying! I need to be busy when DH gets home, as I feel guilty enough not waking up until just gone 10am!!! 😱 I didn't sleep very well the first half of the night, in my defence 😁 DW is on
Ok - off I go!
Hugs to ASB, Fayolle, YL, Jazee and anyone else that needs them.8 -
It's trying to snow. I don't mind - I don't have to be anywhere until I go to work on Tuesday. Although I have made a note to go to the Post Office to pay rent, C Tax (oops - but I was waiting to see how much discount I was getting - must make a note to chase that up as not heard anything) and electricity bill. If the snow settles I will have a welly walk down into the village on Monday.
Round 3 completed and egg and chips consumed. Small pile of papers shredded.
ionafan - I'm not looking on them as January resolutions - more a blossoming of who I am now as this new chapter of my life begins to write itself. Resolutions are too straight-liney and life is very twisty and turney. Does that make sense? xx My Christmas tree is staying up until after work on January 5th.
Round 4 =
Sweetie seed and water
watch it snow - I find it mesmerising.
unpack bag of Christmas presents
put car cleaning kits in bag for DS - I've brought down a large sturdy (posh) carrier bag to fill with 'stuff' which will be deposited at DS's house when full.
Stay safe

I’ve been a silent follower of these threads for a few weeks and it has been so helpful. Thank you so much!
My house has got back into a bit of a state over Christmas and I’m going to be juggling home schooling and working from home from next week for the foreseeable so am feeling a bit overwhelmed.I thought I could do a big house clean tomorrow to try and get ahead so that I am just maintaining in the week. Is there a master list somewhere of all the jobs you could do in each room?Thank you! 🙏Start Weight: 230lbs Goal Weight: 175lbs Current Weight: 230lbs7 -
Hi again
Thanks for the gentle boot round, it worked!
Whole house hoovered and dusted, well DH is just finishing the kitchen and conservatory so nearly...
bathroom, en suite and downstairs loo scrubbed
christmas packed away and all glitter etc cleaned up
litter trays emptied washed and refilled
desk emptied of various bits of clutter in preparation for working there on Monday
Bins emptied and wiped out
lunch eaten, fridge wiped out, food shop put away and menu plan done for the week.
Im going to sit now and transfer all my dates over in the new calendar, will also start my nice new planner that I was given for Christmas, then I think it will be read a book time.
Take care all, hugs as needed x7
