Morning all
Been in the WAC since 5.30am, probably not helped by the Prosecco last night. DS1 off to work, I want to do some paperwork today including submitting DHs tax return, its all sorted I think but for some reason I didnt finish it off, and might as well do it while I am at home.
Hope things are OK with MIL Narco and the night hasnt been too tough for you. I need a second cup of coffee I think.11 -

Good morning
I had a fairly productive day (well, for me anyway!). I emptied the DW, WULTD, wipe all the surfaces, cleaned the hob & microwave, washed up the pet dishes, wiped down in the UR and did some laundry. I also cleared out 2 shelves (precariously double-stacked) of mugs. I have removed 18 (about a 1/4) which will go to the CS when open again. It looks better
I had cold meats and salad for tea last night. I went in the garden by torchlight and delved in a pot for potatoes - and came out with some lovely ones! Not a blemish on them
I ate too many chocolates last night and didn't feel well. Today I am staying clear of the chocolate & biscuits, and drinking more water!
The kitten is on one this morning. He used to be scared of the dog, but is now tormenting him! I am waiting for him to crash!!
Today will be an admin day, and maybe a food shop. I still need to empty Lottie the Hottie as it is now completely full. I will also take the dog for a walk to give us both some exercise.
Hugs to Narc0 and Fayolle
Welcome to the newbies - it can be overwhelming, but as Valli says - baby steps. The house didn't become overwhelming in one day!10 -
Morning all
Ive also been in the WAC this morning, not sure why, just whirly brain...
Dailies are done, plus I’ve cleaned the en suite and wm x1. DH has been called to work so I’m going to prep the veg for tonight’s supper and spend a little time sorting some paperwork... that job keeps getting put off lol.
Hugs to all in need, sending posivibes, sticks and spoons out too xx9 -

First work shift done and I've made a start on hemming DDs curtains. Dailies done and I've put the bin out for tomorrow's collection. So glad I don't have to go out today, it's freezing.Spend less now, work less later.11

(((Hugs)))) to Narc0 and Mr N, and prayers for you all xxx
More (((hugs))) to Fayolle xx
BadCat, I hope your leg is improving xx
I really needed to go shopping today for special birthday cards (a 90 and a 70) and fruit, but decided against it because I would never have got my car up the still snow-covered drive. It is thawing slowly but still not quickly enough that the drive will be clear before it freezes again tonight, so I shall be a prisoner in my own home again tomorrow (apart from going out with Rosie).
This morning I have sorted out some admin problems and started a jigsaw. 'Nuff said!

Thanks for your support. The midnight hospital update was that MIL was having a head scan; the 4am (I thought I was in the WAC but didn't hear Mr N make that call) was that she was admitted to a ward and was 'OK'. We assumed the hospital would be manic in the morning (Essex - thankfully not the ones where the ambulances are queuing outside for hours) so went for a sunny, frosty walk to clear our heads. Noon report was that she is still very drowsy but all vital signs are good; they are frankly baffled so are doing more tests; may even be a water infection although I think they are assuming something more than that (she used to get them a lot and they do have a drastic effect). Ward sister seemed lovely on the phone, said the ward doctor was very good at communicating with families and would ring us if any change or diagnosis; Mr N said he would ring tomorrow.
Flying wise has been mainly planning cooking. I have too many dried pulses lurking at the back of the cupboard so have started soaking split peas for soup, also lentils to make a dahl.
Done quite a bit of a report today.
C & C from Mr T at 6pm, will sort it in the car park and drive my friend's round to her.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.13 -
Evening all,
Narco - keeping everything crossed for your MiL. Fayolle - still thinking of you.
Its been a busy few days, although I'm not sure what I've done! My phone broke which is annoying, new one arriving tomorrow so no doubt I will spend a big chunk of the day wrangling with it! I did drop two huge bags of stuff off at the charity shop this morning - feeerrllling! And I have a bag for life of rubbish on the go upstairs.Tomorrow if time allows I will take the tree and decorations down. I'll keep an eye on my work emails too, the changes announced today impact on when I go back to work, think it'll depend on how many key worker/vulnerable students in next week. My children returning to school as normal thankfully.I am heading for an early night, had a poor nights sleep last night. Sleep well all, hugs and spoons aplenty xxx12 -
Narco - finger crossed
I have cleaned the kitchen and bathroom. WM filled with towels and cleaning cloths. DWS loaded.
Pannetone turned into bread and butter pudding. (It makes excellent B&B pudding and less sugar is needed).
Our distant 'relative', who had covid, has died. He was a widower; their only child died very very young. He was my Great Aunt's husband's sister's son. I believe there wasn't anyone left in his close family. Since he was widowed he has been very dependent on my mum.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
