Morning all
After yesterday’s snow cleared, it’s again a similar view to Valli’s outside the windows here. Sigh...
Round - the others are way too practical - I was simply going to defer to the Piggers, the queen of colour! But I can get the airbed down from the loft in a jiffy and have my own fish fingers ready to bring...
Yesterday I did manage to flick the duster around and to vacuum the bedroom. There is another ironing pile now which I will clear this morning. DD wants me to drive with her to big town as that is where her driving test will be (if it happens), to practise the scary main roads and roundabouts, the like of which you may never have seen. Not something that I am looking forward to, there is a good reason why I only drive to the nearest side of big town. But the alternative is that we are sitting here waiting to hear from the hospital what happens next, like waiting for an axe to fall, pretending that our life is normal.
I need to think about a meal plan, as the last one has been abandoned and I am just scrabbling in the fridge to concoct something vaguely edible. Last night was delivered a fish and chip supper, as I really cba.
Hugs all round, especially to dancemum, but to anyone else who would like one x9 -
Welcome mum of 3 etc
apparently local roads are dreadful, cars stuck, accidents etc.

Nice snow pics, not a flake here although it is raining here again, and yet another flood warning out. We went out for a walk yesterday and some of the low lying fields are now lakes. DS2 came with us and refused the offer of a pair of wellies so he got very wet feet.
Fayolle I dont envy you the driving practice, I hated doing it with my two, and it took me a while to be able to relax in the passenger seat with them once they had both passed their test. I wont mention the other stuff, but you know we are all thinking about you. And Dancemum I guess DS going with the speech therapist is progress, and things are moving in the right direction for you, but I can only imagine how hard it is x
Mr A came with the shopping yesterday, and I had it all to sort and put away. Fridge and freezers are full. Then I had to give the kitchen a really good clean and run the hoover around, unsurprisingly I got no help with that. Going to wash the dog's bedding and hoover his crate out next, then not sure what else the day brings.

Morning all, and welcome to newbies [waves]
I was outside at 8.15 in my dressing gown, clearing the back yard and the steps in the back garden, and making a path to DH's car - he has to go out to the leg clinic this afternoon. Now it is snowing again: big flakes, but the paths are thankfully still clear atm. We live at the top of a hill, so going out in my car would be "interesting" - I don't intend to risk my life, so I will take Rosie for a walk to the CoOp to get milk and satsumas. Otherwise, we have plenty of food to keep us going for the rest of the week. Slow cooked pork with carrot and swede mash and sprouts for tea tonight, nom-nom. It will make a change from turkey, but there is more of that (cooked) in the freezer for New Year. We have already had 7 big portions (plus bits in soup) off a bird that was labelled "feeds 3-7", and there's still enough for at least 2 more meals for the two of us. Very MSE!
DH has managed to maintain his weight this week, which I consider a win. I, on the other hand, have been eating up all the things he shouldn't, and I suspect that I will have gone past the point on the scales that I had hoped never to reach again, but once the mince pies and stollen and gingerbread and dates have gone, they will not be replaced. (The hm shortbread didn't even make it past Boxing Day, it was so yummy- and as for the box of my favourite "Continental" chocolates...
)
Bin day tomorrow, so I am clearing out every bit of rubbish I can find. It still won't fill the bin, though! Progress is slow because in between jobs I have been watching the first part of DH's birthday present to me: a Choral Pilgrimage by my favourite singers, The Sixteen. Fantastic! But I have to watch it in the mornings because our grotty broadband service collapses under the strain of all the Xboxes and Z00m meetings. That might explain why I am still in my PJs...
DH has just made coffee so I must go down and fetch it, get into my day clothes, then clear more papers off my desk, send a birthday card and write an email or two before lunch.
(((Hugs))) all round, but especially to Fayolle, dancemum, Jazee and Mr J, YL, round, Narc0, asb and everyone else who's struggling atm xxx11 -

DW emptied. Some of the 1000 piece jigsaw moved then I can sit at the table (it's DD's and she's 'at work' (wfh)). I have been 'helping'. I've also WUALTD, done the cat pots and tidied some stuff out of my bedroom. Water decanter and glass washed.
I also discovered the working set of lights had two fuse bulbs (?) so I put one in the other set and it works. Fuse bulb replaced with spare coloured bulb. I still will need to source spare fuse bulbs though.

ah mo3;2KID you need AnW's Mum's dot to dot method.
You pick a part of a room eg the top of a chest of drwers or a table. And you clear it. And you keep it clear (of gibble). next time you are inspired/have time tou pick another part and clear that. Eventually you will have lots of clear dots and then you can join them up!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
