Hello Ladies,
Pixie, glad your burn is healing. Your grandson may turn out to be a very successful entrepreneur
Toni's Friend congratulations on your 3lb weight loss.
I had my daughter's new solid wood bed frame and the metal clothes rail assembled on Sunday afternoon. I had paid for 2 handymen for 2 hours. I asked the men to take down all the pieces of my daughter's old wooden and metal bed frame and they wanted to charge me an extra £20.I pointed out that they had been working for less than 1 hour 30 minutes and as I had paid for 2 hours of their time they should do as I asked. They would not agree and I was certainly not going to agree to the additional £20 fee. They work for a really reputable company that I have used many times in the past, so I have put in a complaint in writing. I had to get my son to come home yesterday so that he and my daughter could take down the pieces of her old bed frame bit by bit.
It is lovely to have sandal weather even if it only lasts for a few days7 -
3 lbs loss is excellent TF. I completely agree with you about setting small targets along the way. new numbers on the scales are motivating but also little things like clothes feeling a bit looser. 😊
What a shame those handymen weren't prepared to give you the full 2 hours work sugarbaby. I do hope the company handles your complaint well. Reputation is so important.
Yesterday I changed the water and trimmed the stems of my roses. They're still looking fantastic after a week but they'd 'drunk' almost all the water in the vase. On Thursday I've booked us into a local NT property where they have a great collection of old fashioned roses in lovely walled gardens. I'm hoping to catch them just right as last year, most had gone over and it was tipping down with rain!
I decided to wear one of the new M&S vest tops yesterday. As they cost less than £6 each it, I was happy enough to wear them around the house . My fake tan is building up quite well. I wore a knee length skirt to go dancing last Friday and wasn't ashamed of my legs and my arms look OK with the sleeveless top too. I could do with some toning exercises though! 🏋🏼♀️🤣8 -
I’m also enjoying the nice weather and the opportunity to wear some nice summer clothes. I used some of those foot peeling socks recently, so I have to choose my sandals a carefully 😂.My children are in desperate need of some new clothes so I’ve been doing quite a bit of shopping recently. I tend to pick up clothes in bigger sizes while they are on offer, so we were okay during lockdown, but now need clothes in the next size up. Plus, DS will be starting secondary school in September so we have to kit him out for that.6

Hello Ladies,
My daughter and I went to have a 2 course Caribbean meal with a cocktail each this evening. Even though the service was slow, the food was absolutely delicious. It was a Groupon that I bought in late March that was only £17.25 and as I am due to get £6.03 cashback on this restaurant meal deal, it was a real bargain. They play great background music to keep the diners entertained and there is a great ambience and atmosphere.
Me with my Disaronno Gladiator cocktail
Saltfish fritters starter for me
Jerk chicken, rice 'n' peas and a side salad for my main

Chanie moving to senior school is a landmark and I hope it goes well. Sugarbaby the meal and outing sounds great value, glad you had a good time. TF congratulations on the 3lbs you are doing well.
My hand is healing but still painful but less so that a week ago, for some reason it is throbbing this morning so I'm a bit worried as the antibiotics ended Sunday night so I'm hoping something nasty isn't happening.
I thought I'd report on my crystal nail file, well I am pleased and hoping this is going to go on being positive. My nails are rubbish and I'm not expecting miracles but I currently have no splits or rips. They are still very short and I'm just letting them get a little bit longer but the good news is the nail that has a fault in it hasn't split so I am very happy with it and feel it was well worth the money. The nail strengthener I bought was rubbish, I paint it on and next morning it is peeling off, you are supposed to paint on 4 coats but I've never got beyond one so I think that was £10 wasted. So a 50/50 result on the nails.

Funnily enough I was just thinking about getting one of those nail files pixie. I've just cut my nails down a bit after my shower and will file them later. I still have plenty of emery boards in stock but I could always parcel them up for the CS. 🤔
The throbbing could be a sign your hand is healing but keep an eye on it just in case. I'm sure you will.
It's a landmark but an expensive time moving to secondary school chanie. I think some schools have become more reasonable with all the basics like shirts and trousers from supermarkets but blazers can be very expensive.
I remember you saying you'd planned a meal out with your daughter sugarbaby. So glad you enjoyed yourselves. 😊
Today's fashion pages are about summer shoes and dresses. The shoes range from espadrilles to slides to toe posts with kitten heels. Personally I'll be sticking with my pairs of super comfortable Fit flop sandals. I would buy some white canvas shoes like Converse or something but I'd need to check that my orthosoles would fit in for walking. My toe joint is a bit sore from dancing last night but the orthosoles really support it. Instead of the usual dresses they have separates that look like dresses when worn together. That's a good idea if you need different sizes and allows mix and match.
Another glorious day here. It makes me feel good even if I'm not doing anything special. 😊7 -
Getting excited about bathroom starting on Monday. I didn't want to have things delivered on the day so it is all arriving now, house is full of tiles, vinyl, shower, taps. Bath and loo due to arrive soon. I am thinking I should have had them all delivered on Monday or even Friday but at least I know we are pretty well ready to go and I just have to put up with the chaos for a few days. I'm thinking of having the loo as a feature in the lounge, I think GC will find that funny. Everything is looking very nice so I am feeling it is going to look great, fingers crossed.
I'm off to the tip now to get rid of a load of stuff so I think I will feel a bit more organised then. I have some work tomorrow and GC at the weekend. Busy weekend ahead but it will take my mind off the chaos as long as the little one doesn't pull something down on herself, that's all I need, a squashed 3 year old.
Maman are orthosoles special insoles? Anything to make feet more comfortable is a good idea although I think it is my knees that are starting to wear out but not sure what I can do about that.7 -
I just hit the local charity shops really hard.
I bought lots of "new" tops. I think I bought about 15 new items. I just ordered some dye to dye the white/light ones too. I ordered some more Alba Botanica night cream too as that really suits my skin.
We have been decluttering and tarting up the house a bit. I just dropped off another donation of clothes. I went through my clothes yesterday and packed my winter clothes into some fabric storage boxes I bought. We have done the garden and we need to paint the second bedroom next week. We have booked the house valuation next week and then we are going to the coast to look around and then we have the restaurant and the concert in the evening.
It's bizarre but I have been feeling really good since a few days after my second Covid jab. Really energetic and stronger almost? I painted the garden fence yesterday and the day before and my wrists felt completely okay instead of weak and painful like they have the last few years since I got diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have been drinking this vegan protein drink the past month but it seems like I have suddenly felt better a few days after the vaccine.
I'm feeling very positive at the moment in general. I'm quite looking forward to Euro 2021 starting too. We are going to have a pizza and ice cream and watch the first game tomorrow night.
The washing just stopped, yep, I got 15 new tops, a bright blue cardigan and a pair of tracksuit bottoms all for £21 in the chazzers today.

Wow! You have been busy Wednesday. It did make me laugh that you'd been donating and buying clothes at the same time! 🤣 Lots of progress towards your house move so all good. It could be a psychological lift from having the second vaccine but whatever it is, it's working!
We're looking forward to the Euros too. It's definitely something that DH and I will watch together which is nice. Unfortunately we'd usually be watching in a bar in Turkey with a group of friends but not this year. 😢
Yes, the orthosoles are moulded insoles that the podiatrist recommended some time ago pixie.
thin-style-super-performance-orthotics-women (shuropody.com)
They support arches and toes and generally improve posture because walking badly can affect knees and hips. They are really comfortable but they need to replace the insoles in shoes. In most shoes there's not enough depth for putting them on top. That's why I started buying the fake Skechers from Shoe Zone as it's easy to remove the insoles from them as they're not sewn in.
We've been to a NT property today to see the rose collection. I had planned to wear a dress but it was cloudy so I wore jeans and a tee shirt instead. The sun is beaming now though and it all looks set fair for the weekend. 😊7 -
They look interesting Maman. I tend to wear shoes down on the outside edge so I'm sure I don't walk properly but unfortunately I'm a 6 and they only go up to 5 and a half. Maybe I'll have a look for something similar. Do they work OK with sandals or just shoes? They might be just what I need, I have noticed I'm starting to get pain in my heels and I do feel I put pressure on the wrong parts of my feet.7
