People can only hurt you on the inside if you allow them to. Rise above the bad things others may have done to you and learn to put them behind you (Katie Piper)
I have both pedicures and visits to the podiatrist (not sure that differs from chiropodist but seems the more current name) pixie. I have had problems with my feet in the past and now they're in excellent condition I want to keep them that way. I also had a problem with foot pain (probably from dancing) and the podiatrist was able to advise on orthosoles which helped hugely. It's been great to be able to keep up the podiatrist visits during lockdown . I can paint my toenails myself but I tend to have a couple of pedicures through the summer months. My experience is that good pedicure is often enough if you don't have foot problems but a podiatrist will be more thorough particularly with cutting nails properly.
We went to London to see the Christmas Lights last year Wednesday. It was last time we were able to socialise with anyone when we met up for lunch and a show with friends and then DH and I had a wander around Regent Street and Bond Street. That'll be you in the future as you'll be visiting as a tourist instead of a London resident! 😉 I've always visited London regularly as I had three aunts living there when I was a child and now we only live just over an hour away by train. Funnily enough my aunt who lived in Earlsfield said she rarely went to the West End, did most of her shopping in Clapham. I'll certainly be visiting again when galleries reopen.
Line of Duty does start again tomorrow night pixie. There aren't many programmes that appeal to both DH and me but that's one of them. DH has rewatched the previous series to make sure he hasn't forgotten the thread. I liked the first series best as i enjoyed the clever dialogue in the interview scenes. Apparently Jed Mercurio hasn't written the ending to this new series yet. Perhaps he's waiting to see how well it's received to decide whether to tell us who H is or keep it going. 🤔
It's dull, dry and fairly mild here as well. I expect the PM is hoping that it stays like this over Easter because I think people will flock to beauty spots if the sun shines, regardless of rules. The Rule of 6 will be back by then and I think we can travel a bit further but still only take away from restaurants. I've kept busy today doing some batch cooking for the freezer. At least we can eat well if nothing else! 🤣8 -
Interesting about feet, I don't think we always give them the respect they deserve.
I think your husband was right about watching the previous series, I should have done that but I've left it a bit late now. If I can't figure you what's going on I might have to get you to ask him for me. My husband is a retired policeman and he never watches police shows, well I tell a lie he did like Hill Street Blues, he reckoned it was the only one that was anywhere near the truth. I do like listening to Adrian Dunbar, I love his crazy sayings and his voice takes me back to childhood and going to visit granddad in Belfast. The saying we all love is "There's no one blacker than me son." As a Catholic child visiting Orange relatives I know just how he feels, I found it all very confusing as a child. I always say I might be in a mixed marriage but the biggest colour mix is orange and green so my parents definitely did something difficult. I'm getting old, getting all reminiscent.
I think they will all be safe coming down here at Easter, we haven't seen any sign of the police when we've been to the beach and even going for our jabs a 45 minute drive away we didn't see anyone. I was sitting with the booking form to prove why we were away from home. I think DH has been a bit disappointed, he was probably looking forward to a bit of verbal sparring.
Clocks going forward next week, lighter nights will give us a bit of a lift I think.6 -
Positive thought for today:
Why rush forward to the future when there is so much to appreciate today? Stop, look around you and decide that today you will see only those things that are positive in your life. The bad can wait for another day. (Katie Piper)4 -
I've made a list of all the things I want to do this year. I do love a list. I am going to go to Henman Hill as I've never done that before. Hopefully Wimbledon will be going ahead.
I want to go on the London Eye (if that is possible), to Hampstead Heath and go to the Natural History Museum too. I also want to try out some of the vegan restaurants I haven't tried in west London as I doubt I will be traipsing back over to that part of London after I move. I am supposed to have two concerts in the autumn this year, if they still go ahead that is. I think they will be pushed back to 2022.
I keep veering from being very hopeful and excited about the future to feeling like what is the point. I assume other people must feel the same. I was feeling very up and down before this pandemic but it's made it worse. I keep thinking that I'm going to have to cancel all the plans I'm making.
At least I'm getting out tomorrow and it's to a different area (still local obviously) but it might make a change of scene.
I did buy myself some roses on a whim yesterday and they look very lovely. Red, white and pink. I'm about to take off my nail varnish as it's all chipped and put on a clear layer and use a face scrub on my hands and then use cocoa butter afterwards.
Candygirl - I'm about to watch that Luke Catleugh you told me about do a walking video in central London.4 -
Some lovely ideas there Wednesday. Some of them will definitely be possible later in the year starting with Hampstead Heath. It might be a good idea to go on a weekday as I've read weekends are very busy. The National History museum will probably open at the same time as indoor restaurants so you could do 2 in one day with one of the vegan restaurants . I love the museum building itself as well as the exhibits. The tiles inside are amazing. Wimbledon this year is anyone's guess
There's talk of having pilot crowds at the FA Cup final in May at Wembley but I expect they have to take a decision soon to allocate tickets.
I had a quick look at the video. He admits he wants to learn more about London which was obvious but he was friendly enough.

Wednesday, I had booked to see Jools Holland at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall in July but this week I got an email pushing it back to next year, and last month July's booking to see Jason Manford was moved from July to September. Hopefully my other bookings will go ahead but they are both in September anyway.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

When I went on the London eye I was advised to do it just before dusk started. I saw London in daylight going up and the lights coming on as I went down. It was quite magical. I'm sure havine two trips, one in daylight and one when properly dark would be better but for one trip it was a great way to do it.6

I agree pixie. It is good to see the lights as well as daytime views. It could be that if Wednesday goes when the London Eye opens before any overseas tourists start arriving then there won't be queues. 🤔6

Can you just turn up now, when I went you had to book in advance but it was quite new back then, actually we booked in advance but maybe you could just turn up. I'm confusing myself now.
Watched LOD, love Ted, "hold your whisht" how many times did my granny say that to us, I had to smile when he said it.6
