Hi fabbers,
I have been reading along, but haven’t responded as work is hectic at the moment.
im planning a day off work for a little shopping spree when the shops open. Although I’ve been able to get what I need from the supermarkets or online, I miss having a wander.
Me and OH did covid tests at the weekend. We are in an area with one of the new variants and were offered a doorstop tests. We both tested negative, as we expected we would.4 -
Glad it was negative Chanie. I am looking forward to a wander round the shops.
We had an exciting start to the day. Car due in garage at 8 am for service and MOT and we then went down to the beach and had bacon baps and coffees on the sea front. It was really nice watching the town come to life, the seafront cafe has had to close it's table but you can buy take away and sit on a bench or in your car. I can't believe a bacon bap on the seafront can be quite to exciting.
Just crossing my fingers for the MOT.6 -
That's good news about testing negative chanie. I wondered how it worked with those local tests. They did some in part of our city a few weeks ago but we didn't hear any more about whether they'd found cases or not. Enjoy your day off when it comes, it's good to have something to look forward to.
I know I need to replenish my stock of birthday cards. I usually keep some generic cards from the CS but I've used them all up. I've just been buying what I need from Sainsbury's and they're far more expensive.
What a lovely idea to go out for breakfast pixie. I thoroughly enjoyed our car picnic last week. Simple pleasures. 😊 Hope the car gets through OK.
It's really sunny here and quite mild (11 degrees). I needed to go out on an errand so I did my make up and wore a skirt! I did have my black, suede knee length boots on as well but I could feel myself walking with more confidence rather than padding along in my usual Skechers. 😉6 -
Hello Ladies,
It feels like spring has arrived. It is lovely to take a walk to my local shop and feel the sun on my face
Maman I would normally buy my birthday cards from a local card shop which has lovely cards at low prices, but they are currently closed. I went into my local Morrisons supermarket and stocked up as I found good birthday cards that started from 49p.I have also been sending personalised cards from Card Factory online, which is great when you cannot find exactly what you want among the mass produced cards available, but personalise it to make it fit the recipient.

That was good news Chanie.
It's lovely weather here, like summer. I went for my normal walk and just wore my purple checked shirt with a vest top underneath and I was warm enough. I was just saying on another thread that people seemed happier on my walk and quite a few people smiled at me. I suppose the vaccine as well as the brighter weather is cheering people up.
I've got my chiropodist appointment on Monday and it will be good to get my feet tidied up if it will be warmer weather soon. I'm going to weigh myself on Mondays as well to see if the healthy eating is working.
I might get my toenails done professionally when things are open properly. I was just looking at a place in Shoreditch that does manicures and pedicures. The only thing is that is says it uses oil at the end but wouldn't that make your feet slippery if you were wearing sandals afterwards? Hmm.

Happybunny here, car sailed through the MOT, didn't even get an advisory. Wasn't cheap as it needed a full service, this time last year I had the MOT done but they were so busy with lockdown coming that they couldn't do a service so 2 years since I've had anything done other than a new tyre.
Wednesday this might sound stupid but I've never seen a chiropodist or had a pedicure but doesn't the chiropodist do anything with your toenails, or is that just a cut and you want them painted. I've got a voucher I had for Christmas 2019 and I'm thinking of have a facial, manicure and pedicure, it just about covers the three. It was due to run out in December but because of covid they have extended the date.
I'm a bit jealous of everyone having a sunny day, we started the day with a heavy sea mist and it has been quite gloomy all day. Having said that it didn't rain and it is mild so I shouldn't complain.
I feel really restless today, don't know why today particularly because I have been out and done things but it seems to have made my cabin fever worse not better. I'm looking forward to the 29th when we can have a day out somewhere and even more to the 12th April when I can go to a shop for a browse. I wonder if we will ever take freedom for granted again.7 -

I don't think my chiropodist does nail varnish as I think it's more medical. I've only been there once, though.
I think I'm going to go to Holland & Barrett and Superdrug after the chiropodist appointment on Monday. I want to buy some essential oil and bath foam, a face scrub, lipstick and a new foundation. It will be quite the trip out for me. I actually feel quite excited about it, how sad is that?
I'm writing things I want to do on my calendar. The meal and drinks out next month and the hotel trip to the coast in July. I want to join a book group and I want to start volunteering so that will be after the end of June, hopefully.
Oh yes, I want us to go out for a meal with a lot of my in-laws for my husband's birthday in November as well. I can't believe his 50th was just spent at home.
I'm even thinking quite a lot in advance and planning to go to a carol service, to go into London to see the Christmas lights and to the coast again, all in December obviously.
I was thinking today when I woke up that it will be the last ever Christmas I spend in London as I'm moving next year. It seems quite strange to think of that as I've lived in London all my life, apart from uni.

Thanks Wednesday, so the chiropodist is more of a funcitonal thing and the pedicure is more glam/pampering? Honestly I have too much time to think in lockdown.
I filled the car up this morning, I haven't bought any fuel since December, I normally fill up at least once a month. Can't think where I go half the time.
It is really dull here today, not raining, not very cold, but grey and miserable. I'm feeling a bit bored, don't know what to do with myself. I'm looking forward to the new Line of Duty series, I think it starts tomorrow but I must check. I'm avoiding the news, just feel it is better for my mental health.
Hope everyone is well and happy, I'm very excited at the thought of meeting up with people in just over a week. None of my kids are local but I'm hoping we might be able to meet up with the two who live closest by meeting up in the middle. I remember last Easter worrying about getting eggs to GC and it is almost Easter again what a crazy year.6
