The washing machine is so quiet. Can barely hear a thing. It does take much longer to do a wash but hoping the larger drum will help. My brother has also offered to take the old one to the tip for me so even better. Now to work on the pile of washing that has been building and hope that the sun appears tomorrow to dry it.

Sounds like the builder might be a good un if he's that's busy. Good that he's happy doing smaller jobs as well as larger things like extensions. Also that he can help with the building regs for you.
I'm sure you'll get through the washing quite quickly. Think the weather forecast is for dry weather for the next few days and quite windy so should be good for getting it dried.

Thanks Joedenise, yes he was nice. I think the feel you get also contributes to the decision of which person you go with. I am letting these people make a hole in my house for the new window so I need to make sure i can trust them. To be honest most of the builders around here have been busy until late in the year or beginning of next, its obviously a good trade to be in at the moment.
Its supposed to be dry today for my washing but there are lots of grey clouds coming across towards us so not so sure. Machine is still lovely, although I need to work out all of the programme choices. One of them wanted over 3 hours to wash.
Today we don't have anything planned as the original plans were cancelled. Another nice calm lazy (haha)day. Going to work through housework list and make sure i'm ready to go back to work, get my plan together. Also still waiting for garage to be emptied of boxes. Another potential person would like them. I am hoping at least one person turns up today.

If you’re anything like me you will probably end up using the same programme for practically everything! I use a 40 degree wash with 1600 spin speed for most things, with the occasional 60 degree wash for towels but not every time!1

That is exactly me. I only ever used the one programme on the last one. I just need to find the right one on this machine. Pretty much caught up with all of the clothes now. I still need to do bedding and the blankets from the sofa that I had planned to do the day the last one broke.
Had a wobble earlier when I found an old email from XH. It was after he told me he was going and was just plain mean. It bought everything flooding back and the ache in my chest came back instantly. I have deleted it as that's the only way I can deal with the whole situation. I avoid anything to do with him. After an hour or so of sorting washing with cheery music on I was fine. It just shows how easy it is to be swept back and how much has gone on since.
I've had the children writing their bday and christmas lists today based on the hope that they should have their new rooms by then. They have really struggled to find things that they want. DS wants a maccy d's milkshake machine but unfortunately amaz0n don't sell them according to his searches! I'm wanting to get things sorted just in case of any lockdowns or lorry issues with deliveries.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I'm on the countdown to going back to work now. Not long left so I've started a list so I don't forget what I still need to do. Bed is stripped and in the wash. Will need to tumble dry as very grey here and starting to rain. I would also like to wash all of the coats before going back to freshen them up for this winter.
Had a thought re new downstairs toilet / extension. Wondering if its a) a good idea and b) if it will fit, if I were to put washing machine and tumble dryer in there too. It would be the toilet that visitors use, so do they really want to see any dirty knickers in the machine lol. There are 2 reasons for wondering. The first is that it would free up a quite a bit of space in the kitchen which would be much better used for kitchen equipment/essentials. I had thought that the tumble dryer will go in the garage once the electric has been sorted in there, but in the middle of winter nights do I want to have to go and see if it has finished drying? My other reason is that the house is built on a slope. At the moment both machines are in the kitchen at the back of the house where there is a larger void under the house. When it spins the whole floors shakes. If it's at the front of the house it will be on a solid floor and it might not vibrate the rest of the lower floor. Something to speak to the architect when he next comes (9th Sept).
Right off in a minute to take DD1 to volunteer for the last time at the library and then off to do bits to cross off the list. Have a good day everyone.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Laundry/ loo utilities are all the rage right now! If you’re expecting visitors just make sure the doors are shut on the machines lol! And people have them stacked on top of one another too now although I’m a short !!!!!! so that wouldn’t be for me necessarily but it would mean less space used. Have a look on Pinterest or instagram.. just not too much as that’s what I done and it’s cost me a fortune 😂😊 xxMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Lol ftbdreaming, it's that site that got me to thinking about it
I just know I will want a nice kitchen now i'm staying and although I cant build a utility which was on the wish list when looking at other houses, if it was squeezed in with the toilet then it would kind of tick that off the list and allow me to have the needed space in the kitchen. Kitchen will be in the future as my money will be used on the girls bedroom and extension I am guessing (although no idea as yet how much - may turn out that I cant afford it). I'm not sure why I am too bothered about guest coming round as I have very few of them lol. My concern I think was I didn't want the porch sticking out too much and looking odd, or crowding a small room. I would probably have them on on top of the other with a small shelving unit / cupboard next to it for washing tablets / bleach / toilet rolls etc

Peace and quiet here as the children have all gone to XH for the day. They are having a family picnic (can hear them groaning about that from here - they are not keen on his family). Glad I don't need to deal with in laws and his siblings anymore but feel for the children. They have been bought up (by me) to be polite to others and feel obligated to be nice to them even though they would rather not. I'm sure I will hear all about it when they get home.
Last night one of the original ladies that wanted the moving boxes said she will come and get them today. I really hope so as the electrician wont be able to move in the garage otherwise.
I have locked the back door and closed the door curtains so neighbours don't invite themselves in. I sometime feel like putting a notice up saying 'danger covid in this house' just to stop them in their tracks. Hopefully once all gates etc are up we wont need to and I can go in my garden without them inviting themselves round.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well it must be a bank holiday. It's grey and miserable outside and chilly too. Other than a quick tidy up we've nothing planned for the day (except lady promises she will come and get the boxes this afternoon - we will see!).
I was hoping my online payslip would show soon as payday is tomorrow and I would love to know what is about to appear. Guess I will just have to wait.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
