I wish my OH was an ex right now lol! We are not getting on at all during this kitchen work. He’s an obstructive !!!!!! and causes half the problems in the house! Luckily it is just in my name but I think that’s what’s causing his attitude. Grrrr rant over 🤦🏼♀️Yes I would deffo just do what you decide and don’t even give others the opportunity to butt in. I’ve had it with a few people over the kitchen and bathroom. I also know what you mean with the constant fighting it’s mentally draining if nothing else xxMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Lol perhaps not the best reason to split with OH just to sort house out. Although it is definitely having its benefits here lol. I just need an architect and a builder and I am all setMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

The loo in the living room just reminded me of Mrs Browns boys ! She’s got a loo in the under stairs cupboard !
there’s some really good ideas to split rooms on Pin interestSealed pot challenge 822

lol yes Mrs Brown does, I hadn't even thought of that
I seem to live on pin interest at the moment (taken over from R1ghtmove obsession!).
Electrician is here, and knowing that I have children he has set up some sort of extension cable to power the internet while the fuse box is being sorted. I knew he was like a father figure and has obviously got children of his own. No one without children would think to do this to prevent meltdowns lol.
Today I need to find someone to draw up plans for extension. Not sure if they will be able to advise on waste pipe or not so need to ask that when I call.....well that was good I just had a phone call from one of the architects I contacted last week and he is coming over today - yay. Guess I will wait to see what they sayMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

The architect came and said yes the toilet and hall extension is possible and will look like it belongs to the house so i am awaiting a quote from him to draw up plans (needed due to planning permission). If all goes to plan we would be ready to build by January. Not sure January is the right time to be building, or even if builders are free then but it is something to look forward to. Hoping to still get bedroom split done by then. The architect has a builder that can also quote, but i will be getting other quotes too. New fuse box has been put in and all electrical bits tested in the house and he has confirmed everything is safe. Some sort of certificate will follow soon. He put up the security camera / lights on the garage wall for now but will make it more permanent next week when he adds electric to the rest of the garage. He said to try it out where it is. I think from looking at it I will need it moved to the other wall as its not looking at the area I needed it to. He said he is happy to move it.
I received the working out of my redundancy pay but it says it was based on me working 9 hours a week. Not sure how this was calculated as the minimum I worked was 12 hours a week, unless she did some fancy calculation from when i was off home educating or because i only work term time. Wage slip confirmed no holiday pay. I doubt i will see another penny even if i were to query it. I just have to think of it as a new toilet and sink and be grateful. Some of the ladies got nothing as only been here for a short time.

Aww I’m made up it’s all coming together! I don’t think I’d like building work in January but then again you’re paying someone to do it so it’s not as bad. 90% of ours is diy and I would have been tipped over the edge if it wasn’t summer. Typed as I hide in the livingroom and the electrician is fitting my beautiful brass sockets 😂 gotta pay for pros with leccy lol xMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Thank you, the hallway is always chilli because the radiator doesn't work very well (will get them to mend that at the same time) but still think building might get cold lol. I certainly am not ready to diy anything like this as yet. Will work my way up slowly lolMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Taken laptop to the computer shop today to have extra ram added as it is soooooo slow. Hoping it comes back soon but from previous experience who knows. Until then I am trying to type on my phone so I hope it makes sense. DD1 is off at library volunteering, Older 2 also been swimming and had free meal there, and DD2 has gone to outdoor cooking today. Bit cooler this week but she has coat and sensible clothes on so hopefully wont be too cold. Need to collect school uniform and look for school shoes for DD2 when collecting her. I'm very aware if we leave it too late we might be out of luckMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Wowee! Your brain is going 1000 miles an hour. If someone else is building it who else cares when it happens? It would be lovely to have a lovely warm hallway. I hope the changes give you what you need.
I know as a teenager I preferred having my own tiny room over sharing a big space with my sister. Maybe they'll even get on better once they're free of each other. I think splitting up the room is the most pragmatic and effective plan.
Don't worry about what other people say about your home changes. They aren't you. They don't know what your family life is like day to day and you deserve a home that suits your family's needs.
