Well that was a week and a half. All done now though. Only German and Art mock exams left but as the revision was minimal I think DD2 may get a little wake up call. Work has been mad but fun as I have been given more of the bits I like in my job, but on top of the other bits so am very busy. I also had my holiday increased as I have now been there for 5 years. That was unexpected. As I get paid for this I am guessing my monthly pay will go up slightly.

House news - Mortgage is all good for what I would like to buy when I find somewhere and sell mine, however the one we did like has now gone so will get ours sold and hope for the best. 2 new agents came to view. One valued it really low, more like a 2 bed than a 3/4 bed, and the other was much more friendly and sounding like she knew what she was doing. I have decided to use this one, but turn around will be fairly quick. Photos will be done this week coming, the day after the new floor has been installed. I am wondering if perhaps it would be a better option to move it on a week as feeling quite rushed. As we no longer have a house in mind and nothing really suitable on the market, maybe it would be better not to rush.

This morning the free school activities have opened for booking. This will be the last year that DD2 can attend as she will be 16 next year. I have managed to book all of the craft workshops at the library that she was hoping to do, and then I have booked but not yet got confirmation for out door cooking and roller disco at the local sports centre. I am also waiting for 9am to book roller skating in a local town that she likes. That means that she will have something to keep her busy most weeks.

This morning I am off to town to meet with my best friend and to just catch up. I plan on getting home though before it becomes too hot. I can drop the late library books off too hopefully as they have been in my car for over a week now - whoops.

Well just showered as I was a mess after doing the gardening today. Grass has been cut and hedges trimmer. I still need to weed the borders but I ran out of energy. It is so muggy although the clouds have come over now and looking like we may get some rain which would be nice. Easy pizzas tonight.

I have asked the estate agent to rearrange the photos for the week after as we can have a weekend to sort things out a little more. I am not looking forward to emptying the kitchen of appliances tomorrow ready for the floor being put down on Tuesday. I need to book a tip trip too to get rid of the old lino so it isn't hanging around for too long. I don't think this coming week will be any quieter than the last few. In fact I think until the holidays it will now be all go.

Had a catch up with my friend earlier on which was lovely although the event in town really was not what we had been lead to believe, but not to worry as we got our catch up which is all that matters.

I plan on sitting and relaxing for the remainder of the day I think, and catching up on the tv that I have fallen asleep to through the week.

Up early again, how is it I only wake early on the weekend rather than the week days when needing to get up for work? I put some washing in the machine and it is now on the line. Not yet seen the sun, but am told it is on its way.

Emptied small freezer into bigger outside one and have dragged the small one outside to defrost. That will stay turned off until it can be put back in place on Tuesday after the floor has been fitted. I am trying to get the washing all done so that can be unplumbed and then the dishwasher.

I have also been to todays aqua aerobics as I ended up cancelling the ones in the week due to house / admin bits that couldnt be changed. It was a different lady but so a different set of moves, so I can feel it now in my muscles a little.

Been to see my dad this afternoon. Sat in the garden and ate ice creams. Was lovely sitting listening to the birds having

Very busy day at work and if the work load that I am being given continues I think I will need to increase my hours, if there is any money for that?

I have finished clearing the kitchen ready for tomorrow, all white goods are either under a plastic sheet on the patio or in my living room. The old lino came up very easily and I managed to get it to the tip before they shut, so a good days work all round.

As I was just finishing ripping it up the old estate agent called and asked if a couple could have a look round. How typical is that, just because everything is everywhere on the hottest week of the year. Anyway after tomorrow having the lino fitted we will attempt to put most of it back together ready, and then clean again. Maybe this is the couple and then we will not need a new agent, fingers crossed please.

Well another busy day. Started off with several meetings in work, only to be interrupted by a call to the school from DD1. She never calls the work number but as I hadn't answered my mobile (I was in the meetings) she had no choice.

She had stayed home as we were expecting several deliveries and people turning up to the house today. One of which was the floor man who arrived much earlier than planned. She handed the phone over to him and he explained that the measurements that I had given him for the floor were incorrect so it would not fit. I was surprised as the estate agent had used a laser machine to get the measurements and I had used those. Turns out he had gone from the inside of the wall rather than the outside where the door frame was so we were missing about 15cm.

Not knowing what to suggest he went back to the shop (2 min walk from my house) and I ended up leaving work for a while and meeting him there. We got a refund and chose another piece. Having emptied the kitchen and ripped up the old flooring we needed something down by the time we have our viewing on Saturday. The sales lady in the shop was not helpful and wanted to book the fitting in for a few weeks time, but the fitter was there and was able to offer to just come back out as another job had been cancelled today.

She tried to charge me again for fitting but he butted in again and said I had already paid and it hadn't been fitted so I would not need to pay again. I was very grateful he was there. I then rang DD1 and said he was coming back and I rushed back to work. By the time I got home he was just finishing up .

We have since put back all of the appliances and other bits. I plumbed in the washing machine and dishwasher and have set them both going. Both have water going to them and neither are leaking so I am counting that as a win. I have never done this before, but seeing Dad take them off the other day it looked simple enough, even for me.

Our school is shutting at midday for the next few days to avoid the heat hopefully. It will give me a little longer to clean with rests in between.

Oh and in other good news the benefits people have a agreed that the error in date back in January was the only error and I have not had more money than I should have. They said it should never have been escalated in the first place as it is quite clear to see what had happened and from the statement I made it is indeed the real reason. Anyway I should no longer need to pay back the debt and I should get the money back that I had previous had to pay back while it was being looked in to.

Right I have cooled down slightly so now off to do more in the kitchen :)

Thank you everyone. The floor feels so strange after year and years of paper thin flooring. But we like it, and hope others do too.

Our school closed at lunch time today but I was able to get some of the jobs done, from the back log, although plenty more to be done. Tomorrow is supposed to be another early close but nothing mentioned about Friday as yet. I have a feeling it may end up being a whole day off. The office is just getting warmer by the day.

I have done very little since leaving until now, as the sun is getting lower and the breeze has started a little. I just managed to squeeze a load of washing in the machine before the octopus energy saving starts. I will hang it out over night and expect it will be dry by the morning. DD2 is allowed to wear her PE kit but as it is a logo top, we need to wash it each night as we only have 1 of them.
