Today we went to outdoor cooking and thankfully it was shortened by about an hour compared to normal as it was far too hot for us all. Fun was had and we kept to the shade as much as possible but really we all just wanted to go home and have a cold shower. And that is what we did. Sitting here in my nighty hoping that no one comes to the door. Only issue is that it is bin day tomorrow so I might wait until it is darker to take the bin out. We came home with leftovers from lunch as well as a box of food. We used to have a huge box of fresh bits and bobs with meat from a butcher and blocks of real butter, but the last few have been more like pantry staples that can be made into the meals. I expect it is a money thing but still really appreciate it.
Tomorrow will be my car service so I will drop it off early in the morning and walk home. Please all keep fingers crossed that it is only the service that needs to be done, and it doesn't find anything else wrong.
DS found out that he should be able to get DSA for uni and has been told that the normal finance has been sorted. He will have a 1-2 hour meeting to assess what extra things he will need and I am assuming the amount for DSA will be adjusted accordingly. I cant see him getting that much but really I have no past experience so who knows.
Got a call from DD1 today and her and BF have not had a break from each other since they left, so things are getting a little tetchy. Both of them benefit from time alone each day to reset, but there has been no way to do this. We talked and she can see his side of the problem, and suggested maybe each of them took a walk around the hotel alone to let the other have 15 min alone in the room. They come home Thursday late at night so not too much longer to go.

Hopefully the DSA application goes well. Positive vibes on the car.

Thank you @beanielou, this morning we have done the pre assessment form and booked his appointment for Monday when I get home. He wanted me to be there with him as he will often miss the crucial information that might be helpful, so I have cancelled my swim and will come home instead which I think is a good idea.
The car has had its service and its been paid for with the money I would normally put into the savings pot. I am thinking it is an investment as I can not afford a new car anytime soon so need to keep this one in tip top condition for as long as possible.
This morning me and DD2 have been sorting out all of our cans of food. We have made a list of what is there and which cans are the oldest and need using. We will create a menu to help this, after the food box meals.
Todays weather is much more to my liking. In the 20's sunny and a little breeze. Yesterdays clothes all on the line and probably already dry.
Booked a trip to the tip tomorrow to get rid of a few bits that have been on the landing for quite some time now. I also still need to put the cases back in the loft asap - maybe today. I would like to then hoover top to bottom while it is a little cooler, but we will see.

I ran out of steam with the cans of food yesterday so have just organised them in date order and we can move around the kitchen properly again. Last nights dinner of lentil bolognaise was good but better with a squirt of sweet chilli sauce. I have some left overs so might have for lunch of will pop in the freezer for another day.
DD1 flies home this evening and I am excited to hear what she thought, although from the bits she has sent it looks like she has had a fabulous time. We probably will not see her until tomorrow afternoon, but not too long to go.
We have a swim disco to go to this afternoon after we quickly drop the bits off at the tip. It will be a new experience for us all, although without my hearing aids in I am not sure if I will be able to hear the music. DD2 needs to start doing some school work as nothing has been done yet and exams are very quickly coming around. She is currently just refusing so not sure what I can do to encourage her to make her start.
Oh well I best get some lunch as it will soon be time to leave.

DD1 is back in the country yay, although the plane hadn't even arrived at the time that they were supposed to be leaving. She will be home around lunch time I believe.
DD2 and I cleaned her room yesterday so that she could actually see her desk and start working. Hopefully that will spur her on. Maybe she needs bad results on these tests to give her the kick she needs for next years actual exams.
Swimming was good (not really a disco) even though ex sister in law was there and felt the need to watch me the entire time. I felt like waving at her - she didn't like me much when I was married to XH so no love lost there. Anyway it was nice to cool down after days of hot weather. I can also add my first £4.20 to the total of my gym membership was it worth it pot. I think I might add this to my signature at the bottom. It became obvious that I needed to order a new swimming costume as the elastic has gone in my one, so have ordered a few this morning and will see which one is the best to keep. That has come out of the clothing pot.
Pay day today and I have popped some money into the pots as I was unable to do that earlier in the month. I don't think we have anything coming up that is expensive (fingers crossed) so hopefully we can get back to normal this month.
Today DD2 is meeting a friend in town and I will be meeting my friend at the same time. We however get to meet at the local cheap pub for a soft drink and catch up. I am already finding it hard to stay awake so maybe a little nap later too, but if not early to bed for me.

Yesterday was a lovely relaxed day with a lot of catching up with people. DD1 walked us through every moment of her best holiday ever, I met with my best friend and had a good few hours of therapy and then my brother turned up and sat and talked with us in the garden. Since his wife left he has become his old self and much more relaxed.
Today is looking warm already and I so far I have washed all of DD1's holiday washing, as well as some of the other bits needing doing. I ran out of pegs there was that much, but at least the case can go away now nice and quickly.
No real plans for today, but I dont plan on going anywhere. I think DD1's BF is possibly coming round for the day and I will try to encourage DD1 to do some school work. DS has work. I think I will start thinking about getting work bits ready and maybe sorting a meal plan out for next week. The local fete that I made some jam and bits for last year has put out this years competitions so I might go through that and have a look to see if there are any categories that I fancy. We will be at the fete anyway as DD2 will be playing in the band, so we may as well join in.
