Up early and it looks like it should be another sunny day, although there is a frost on the roof tops and cars around here. I left some damp washing on the line overnight so expect that to be a little stiff. Another load has just finished so will get that on the line so it can dry while I am at work. I might even have enough time to get the towels washed and on the line before I go.

Need to empty the car later and drop it off at the garage on the way home from collecting DD2 this afternoon. MOT tomorrow morning, so fingers crossed again please !!!!!! lots of things are causing money to fly from my account this week.

Still no news from benefits but have written another note asking them to call me after work to explain. They have put some new statements on my accounts but looks like they are basing their findings on my savings from January 2026 for the whole period? Very strange.

Anyway the towels will not wash themselves so I best get going. I hope you all have a great sunny day :)

Yay it is the weekend. This morning the car passed its MOT which I am really pleased about, although it does need 3 new tyres quite soon, but at least I can sort them in my own time. Money in the pot for these thankfully, as the money seems to have gone from my main account so much this month and I still have a few more days until payday. It will need to be a cheap week if we are to make it.

Tonight we have a ladies craft event at the local church. We went to the Christmas one and had a lovely time just crafting and eating pudding. No doubt tonight will be very similar. Tomorrow is a free day with nothing happening and then Sunday we have a sports tournament, where I will be in charge of several children for a while. I will need plenty of snacks and drinks ready for this.

Still no news on the benefits front or why they are planning on deducting money. In fact on this months statement there is no mention of any reduction. *** Update*** I have just had a much better look at the statements and I think I have figured out the error. I report each month but this January 2026, I put 2025 (as I was obviously still getting used to the change in date, and I tend to do the balances after a day at work). Anyway they have taken this as the real date so rather than my bank accounts changing each month with the original amounts that I have given, they have used the one figure for every month since Jan 2025. Hopefully they revert back to the original figures and that will be the end of it. I have written this on my journal but no idea when anyone will actually get back to me. Hopefully I can stop worrying about it though.

Ok I better get dinner started so that we are ready for our evening out :)

And that is me done for the Spring Term. I have been struggling the past few days with a stinky cold and feeling rough, knowing I only had a few more days to keep going. I had intended to stay the whole day so I could finish the day with a Easter bingo session that I had organised, but decided to hand it over, come home and rest instead. I am on the sofa and hoping to stay here until bed time.

Benefits people are still trying to argue with me that I have been overpaid. I have told them what I did wrong, but they are currently not listening. They are not explaining fully why but just saying my capital was understated. Unless they know something I don't, I have recorded all capital. I have requested that it is looked at again.

I think I will start working on my food shop while I am just sitting here resting and waiting for DD's to come home

I had a day in bed yesterday and today after a shower and getting dressed I have spent the day on the sofa. Apart from a hacking cough and lack of energy I am on the mend. I have lost my sense of smell but can still taste things thankfully. I did do a covid test but it was negative thankfully.

Bought my sister a voucher which is on its way to her for her birthday so even though I have been no where, I have still managed to spend. We also had our food delivery earlier so that will have gone out of my bank. It was mainly things from my favourites list, as my head wasn't there to meal plan and look at what we already had. It will all be used though.

I have tried to do a list for things we need to get done before we go away next week. We will be going to a local town with a list of last minute bits to get, as well as having a meal out. I have vouchers for Nandos that I have earnt over the past few months from surveys. It will be a treat that will not cost us anything / very little.

I have also finished watching 'the other Bennett sister' as well as 'Small prophets', both of which I enjoyed.

Time for bed and hopefully a night with not too much coughing

Thank you all for your well wishes. My energy and stamina are still almost non existent but no time to sit still now as things need doing. I am doing a job then resting for 10 min, then doing another job and resting again. The cough is annoying but letting me sleep at night a little better now, although I am still needing to sleep slightly upright. I am hoping as each day goes by it will improve.

I am not ready for my holiday, but I have managed to check in and get some euros ready. We are off to town today to get a few bits. I need to do some banking while there as well. We then obviously have our vouchers for Nandos so our main meal will be sorted. I counted up and there is £75 so should cover all / most, although not eaten there for a while so who knows.

Next job is to bag the money up for the bank. I love counting money so will enjoy lol. Have a great day.

Banking ready and also managed to summarise my capital for the benefits people in the hope I can upload it and stop the need for it to be looked at. A simple mistake in January where I put the date as 2025 not 2026 has caused a whole heap of issues. Am hoping when it is all shown on the spreadsheet that it will be clear to see.
