Well the room is finished and awaiting a sofa. At some time between 7am and 7pm it will arrive - hopefully closer to am please. It has been a long day and I am just waiting for the water to heat up before I have a shower and head to bed.

While my foot is mended I have had a spectacular fall and landed on my chest over the back of a garden chair. I tried so hard to stay upright but no smash. Thankfully not with the paint in my hand, just some board games, but boy does it hurt. I am so ready to just relax for the last few days of the week.

I need to find the envelopes so I can send some bits off tomorrow. If I cant find them tonight I may nip to work to borrow a few. I need to stay focused and organised so things do not get missed and money isn't wasted.

Now off to update the to do list to stay on track :)

Well that is the half term almost done. I am typing from my new sofa and plan to sit here for the majority of the day. I still hurt from my fall especially if I breath deep, cough or sneeze and moving is sore. Oh well back to my safe day job sitting at my desk soon rather than doing DIY lol.

I did a quick top up shop (very small) from lidl yesterday, just so I could get some more fizzy and bread as I had run out. Tomorrow there is a small shop being delivered and I have a voucher that covers most of it. I need to have a double check I have everything on the list that we will need. We have been eating out of the freezer and cupboards for the past few days in the effort to keep to budget low. I do need to decide what is for dinner tonight though as we swapped days around. It may be a pasta bake tonight. I am finding it hard to believe today is not Sunday as I was convinced yesterday was a Saturday. I guess by thinking this way I have a bonus day before going back to work.

I am waiting for a refund for the pet plan that we cancelled (as took 3 payments rather than 1!) as well as from the insurance claim for the latest lot of medicine for the cat. Next lot of money comes in on Wed and then again on Friday so we should be fine. I filled the petrol tank up yesterday as well so that will last a couple of weeks as we have no plans out of town now for a little while.

Off to look at some travel insurance to get an idea of costs

Sympathies on the fall @slm6002, I once fell over the cat and caught my ribs on the rim of a big terracotta plant pot. Nothing broken but it was really painful for weeks after.

Omg I hope you're okay @slm6002 I've had falls like this before and been hurting for months sometimes (was usually over the dog whilst I used to have something obscuring my view to see him). Hope you heal up soon enough 💗 🙏🏻

Thank you both, DS seems to think 'it's not that bad' as I was wincing while trying to reach for something earlier, but it really is. I will be ok soon hopefully and each day it gets slightly better I think. I am sporting a lovely green bruise anyway.

I am up, showered and dressed and the food delivery has been. There doesn't look a lot there but I guess it will do us for a few days at least. I have scanned it so we are working our way up to the next voucher hopefully. I think I might make some cakes or cookies for treats as I didn't buy much that wasn't for meals this week. I might also make a fruit crumble for pudding as it Sunday (pudding night).

I think I am ready for back to work tomorrow but not sure DD2 is quite yet. I will check all of her uniform has been washed and put away so she knows where it is (tie is always going astray). Time to check homework is complete and get ready for mock exams.

I feel ready for work too for once. I've had a restful week around my very busy days. I think the fact my new job is easier and less stressful also helps.

And kids are so unsympathetic aren't they. I once knocked myself out on a corner of a shelf and was concussed for ages (I'm pretty clumsy) and my DS1 nearly died laughing at me. I got so upset over it. The other two have been equally as awful in their sympathy over other things too. And yet we make them, birth them, care for them, love them and would do anything for them and it seems they don't even care enough to say. Are you okay mum? Would you like me to do anything for you when we are injured or sick ...😳🥴🫠🤔... nevermind we will give you plenty of sympathy here ❤️‍🩹💗

Thank you @Humdinger1 I am guessing it will probably arrive as soon as things are better.

First day back at work and achieved quite a lot. The time went very fast which was good. I am in all day tomorrow so hopefully it will be like today and whizz by. I do need to make some lunch tonight as it is a long day tomorrow.

Wednesday the old sofas will be removed from the driveway and I will finally be able to close and lock our back gate. I cant wait as I feel much better with them shutting the world out. Wed is also the first pay day of the month, although I did get my refund from the vets this morning so £60 better off that I was yesterday.

Tonight is pizzas - basic ones from supermarket which we will add some extra toppings to. I will drop DD2 off at band, pick up DS's clothes order on way home and then go back at 9.30 to collect DD2 and bed. Hopefully a decent nights sleep as still not sleeping that well at the moment. Will catch up on some tv and some diaries on here while waiting to play taxi.

I can not tell you how much better I feel from having the gates back in place again. Yesterdays lovely weather allowed us to have to door open wide, knowing the risk of visitors was zero! So the sofa has gone yay, but they also took my very sorry looking bbq, which I was hoping to get another year out of it. Yes it probably looked like it needed to go but it was not on the list I had to submit. Had it have been better looking I would have complained but really I am not sure I can blame them.

Yesterday was also benefit pay day and XH contribution day, so my bank account now looks a little better than last week. Tomorrow is also payday so fresh new budget time. It will still be tight until I have built up a cushion again but nothing hopefully that we cant sort.

I haven't been sleeping properly due to pain in my chest and side from fall. This has made me feel exhausted and I am very glad that it is Friday tomorrow. Nothing but paperwork type jobs and housework this weekend as far as I can remember. I do need to have a good clean though, just in case we have any interest in the house, but it will be around resting too.

DD2 is helping out at the school tonight so I will delay dinner for a little while until she gets back. Will pop dinner on just before I leave and then it wont be so long to wait. She also needs to research where she can go for work experience, as the deadline is looming.
