  • We bought a big bag of grass seed slim and its come up really well. Easier and cheaper than turf. Good luck with the garden improvements,  we did ours last summer and it's made a massive difference.

Thanks bargainhunter.  My neighbour has also suggested artificial grass as he thinks it can just be put on top of the concrete.  I am looking at all of the options and seeing what's possible, cheap, easy to do.
Today has been lovely and sunny although cooler than it looked.  Met a friend to do several laps of the local park and to have a bit of fresh air.  I've been on my feet all day and after sitting for a few minutes i noticed it getting back up. Did a bit of shopping and also collected the free foods.  The lady later contacted me and offered me some other bits as no one else had requested them and i was close by

Smashing up concrete is a hard long job. How would they get the top soil to you? I would say that when we did it we put the rubble free on fb market place and people come and got it. Lots of people will be starting on their gardens now so I'd get cracking asking for the topsoil.
There's something with tin foil if you grow from seed. Keeps the birds off. Xxx

Good morning - chilli here today and i may have just popped heating on for an hour to warm the place up a little.  I have already delivered the car to have the repairs that were picked up in MOT repaired, done a few surveys and cashed out £10 from that.  I have tfr the money to an amazon gift card again ready for the festive season.  Waiting for DD2 zoom to be done so i can get the washing machine going.  DD1 and DS are busy doing their work for today so it quite quiet around here.
Still waiting to hear from the solicitor but looks like XH may have his money either by the end of this week or beginning of next week as it seems to be all go.

Oooh freedom is in sight! How exciting!

I turned my heating to timer the other week so it was just 2 hours morning and evening to take the chill off but now I’ve put it back to all day as it’s gone quite cold again. In winter I keep it on constant but I have the boiler on very low (number  1) so the house just constantly stays warm not really hot or cold. I’ve tried loads of combinations over the years but this was the cheapest and best option for me. Even through the winter with it on from November to start of feb I was putting on £20 a week (prepayment) so I think that’s not too bad!

My kids are very bad at zooms. They were supposed to be on registration at 9 but didn’t get up in time. I sent them back to school 3 days a week so they have had a bit of education lol! Roll on next week for a bit of routine and normality back though! X

Well mortgage redemption was received and i have given details to my uncle who will visit the bank tomorrow.  The date on the redemption certificate is 12th March but it does say if different date used add or deduct £4 ish.  So i guess if we are ready earlier then it wont make a huge difference.  We are however waiting on XH to sign his paperwork - how surprising lol.  At least if the solicitor has everything ready we can move quickly once done.

Money is with the solicitor.  My paperwork was also returned to them.  Now to wait.  House is clean and tidy - just kitchen to finish but no point until after dinner really.  Feel like i achieved a few bits today

Thank you Kitten and Caeler.  Hopefully it wont be too long.  No champagne as i don't really drink but will do a happy dance.
Back to school and work tomorrow - how we are going to get out of the house on time is beyond me.  We are so used to getting up for the online lessons at 9 and we have not always been dressed and out of PJs like others i am sure. I did try this week to get back into a routine but failed lol.  We as a family don't want to go back, but i am thinking that a normal pay packed will help me achieve my goal so its worth it, plus really we have to lol.  Other than getting bits ready for tomorrow, we have nothing planned for today.  Have a good day :)
