Another sunny day - feel much better on bright days like this.  Off out for a few hours to the local park today with DD2.  Not sure what the others are planning, but they refused to come and have some outdoor fun.  No sign of builders so guess they have moved onto the next job until the boss gets off holiday.

The spare tyre that I ordered has arrived this morning.  I will pop that in the car soon.  My Dad can then relax - he still makes sure my car is ok before going on journeys lol.  I need to call the dentist and make some appointments for the children as last time it would have been in exam time and we were unsure as to who had exams when so never booked it.  We don't want to get kicked off the books, although being private hopefully it is less likely.

Hoping that today DD1 hears about one of her jobs, so we can stop searching and start fully enjoying the holidays.  She is off on a weekend getaway with her group of friends this coming Friday, so will get the cases out of the loft today.  We only have a few weeks before our family hols too so will soon need them.

Next door is away this week so we need to take care of his garden and water plants.  He is a big gardener so hopefully we will not kill the garden off.

Didn't get the shopping or the meal plan sorted last night so need to do this.  Got some chicken for tonight but then the fridge is pretty empty.

Best get my day started :)

We had a lovely time at the park yesterday and went round all of the stalls, picked up a few free pens for work, got our free lunches and yes they included the free Mr whippy voucher for the ice cream van.  I even managed to park for free in a side street so didn't need to pay to park in the local supermarket. So a nice free outing.  We won a free family swim too which will be a nice treat later in the month maybe.

Dentist appointments booked for a few weeks time, meal plan sort of done, and shopping ordered for tomorrow.  Watered next doors plants and got 3 loads of washing done.  Today will be bedding - mine is already in the machine and once the children are up theirs will be too.  I may have caught up by tonight lol.

Later today DD2 has her hair appointment - she wanted about 6 inches off so booked appointment.  Now she thinks she might want it long.  I could have trimmed it!

Nothing much else planned - we didn't manage to get suitcases out of the loft yesterday, so that needs doing.  I would like to also have a bit of a declutter too.  DS has clothes in his drawers that are many sizes too small and need to go.  I need to drop off the old school uniform.  The house feels like we just have so much stuff, that even if we tidy up it is still messy - some of the unused bits need to go and today we will start.

It is payday and banks are topped up ready for possibly lots to all change.   I am a little nervous to be honest that we will have enough coming in.  I have been very lucky up until now that I have been better off since OH left money wise, but feel we will be going back to scraping by again, whilst costs go up.  On paper it is ok but it is the day to day things that pop up.

DD1 will be taken off UC and CB next payment (I think), Child maint although they still say it is due hasn't been paid since May and that too will be reduced as DD1 will no longer be included.  Council tax has gone up as apparently my UC award isn't enough to qualify for reduction anymore and  they have taken the single adult part off as assume DD1 now isn't in education.  I need to call council tax people as it will all change in month or so, and I will hopefully qualify again but then if DD1 has income maybe not.

DD1 has a second interview today so hopefully that is just a formality and she will get the job (lots of positive thoughts and fingers crossed please), maybe its to meet the team she could work with.  She will of course contribute a percentage or her wage towards the household but it is not a high paid job as she will be on apprenticeship rates for at least the first year.

Food delivery has arrived.  I have scanned it all and put it away.  It never looks a lot considering what we pay.  At least it will keep the kids and me fed for a few days.  I picked up a few bits from olio the other day too which helps.  I may need to keep a better eye out for olio bits.

I have told the children to start thinking about bdays as they are all in the next few months.  Money is ready but I like to get organised.  I told DD1 that if she has a job, she may need to take cakes in for her bday.  She tells me she is not doing that - told her it was what happens in many offices so she may need to - her reply was, but it's my bday, they should be buying me the cakes not the other way round lol.

Adult life is fun - she is currently wanting to be an adult in some areas but a child in others.  It is a whole new parenting experience which takes a bit of getting used to for both of us.

Right better go help DS with his homework - now he is talking to me again after yesterdays attempts!

Thank you everyone, we are still grinning and feel just so more relaxed.  We treated ourselves to a chinese for dinner.

The only other thing hanging over us is DS's project for college and a bit of the horrible job left to do.  The builder is coming tomorrow to hopefully finish things off.  Just had a bit of a clean up ready for tomorrow

It is looking like we may get some rain soon, but it still quite warm.  The good builder is back to finish things off today and asked what I thought of the other builder.  I didn't think he was very good to be honest even before he broke the shower screen.  He was just lazy.  The good builder bought him in to catch up with jobs, but we are not the only ones to have issues with him.  Not sure they will use him again.

All 3 children are still asleep even though the builder is banging away.  DD1 is out most of the afternoon and evening, and is then off on holiday with her friends until Monday.  Got the cases out of the loft this morning. Sure they will have fun (and some disagreements), even if it is a mixture of people who are very different.  DD1 has already had to tell them they don't need all branded items in the food shop - most of her friends come from very rich backgrounds so they have a lot of money to spare.

Today I am going to try to get the kitchen sorted and work on the horrible job a little more - may even get it sorted my end by the end of the day.  Right time to get going
